Meet Dr. LaCiana Rozier of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. LaCiana Rozier.

Dr. LaCiana , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my journey as a classroom teacher, then matriculated through the ranks. I’ve been an assistant principal, department chair, school district instructional specialist and behavior specialist. At the college level, I have supervised student teachers and principal interns, served on dissertation committees, and worked to modify course curriculums. These experiences have provided me with the necessary tools to start my own businesses to provide organization, group, or individual leadership guidance to impact behavior change. This is my 29th year in education and 5th year as a private consultant.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy journey to travel. I moved from Virginia with over 10 years experience back to the area with a family starting all over in my career. After starting my journey in North Carolina school system, I was faced with several setback of job cuts, loss of loved ones, and personal injuries. It took me 10 years to obtain my doctorate degree due to these struggles. However, with the support of the university, my family, and my faith in God, I earned my Education Doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Instruction.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an instructional leader with over 28 years of experience providing organizational, group, and individual coaching to facilitate behavior change, I am committed to helping individuals, groups, and organizations with behavior change. Serving as an executive functioning coach and as a leader in the community, I support individuals to apply the principles of behavior change and backwards planning to meet their goals.

I hold five degrees, a teaching license, and speciality certification. I use my training and experience to customize approaches to help individuals, groups, and organizations develop a sense of self-efficacy to meet their individual goals. I am most proud of achieving these goals which led me to starting my first business in 2021 and launching of the second one this year.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like the flexibility of city life and country living in a matter of minutes. The Carolinas has a lot to offer in business, leisure, and education. I love the farms, amusement parks, museums, and huge sporting arenas. Most of all, the people is what makes it special. This is home for me. I grew up here and have seen it evolved but stay the same over time.
