Dante Aguilar and Holly Negreiros

Hi Dante and Holly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In the beginning of our journey, we had no idea what we were doing, where this was going, and how to keep it up. Well, blindly jumping into florals two weeks before Valentine’s Day was a complete handful! We stayed up all night, every night, watching “how-to” videos and completing orders in time for pick-up. Since then, we have taken further steps into developing our craft; we have taken baking, pastry, and breads schooling along with online floristry classes. As of today, we have grown so much, thanks to our community, that we now are sponsoring and vending local events by request!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of our biggest struggles has been time. In other words, last minute orders to stay on top of. On many occasions people order their floral arrangements or baked goods up to three days before they need them. This leaves us no time to order their special requests online, and sends us up the rabbit hole looking for specific items in stores. We love our customers, but we love a one-two weeks notice just as much!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in creative and custom florals and desserts. We are best known for how creative we allow our customers to be. Everytime someone orders from us, whether bouquets or bakes, they are encouraged to express their own creativity. Most of the bouquets we have sold have been created by our customers; we pride ourselves into bringing their ideas to life. Quality and attention to detail sets us apart. Creating floral arrangements is an art, and like any artist, we too want the best results.

How do you think about luck?
Not luck, but God has kept us in business. Everytime business gets a little slow, or we just need an extra penny, we receive an order. He has sent us the best returning customers. For a small business, in the beginning, it is usually just fingers-crossed, but our business has survived off prayers. We are extremely thankful for our buyers because every order we have sold, so far, has been by word of mouth. We have sold over 150 orders in less than our first year soley by word of mouth.
