Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Dunn
Hi Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I woke up one day with two kids, 16 months a part, a stay at home mom in a city with only a few friends and no family and felt like I needed a voice and that (hopefully) someone out there would hear me.
I created a blog and began writing articles featured in Media outlets and Mom Blogs like Scary Mommy and Her View From Home. I shared my unfiltered, unrefined, somewhat unique view of stay at home motherhood in a way that I hoped was raw, relatable, funny, and at times, controversial.
Eight years later, I am still writing, but am in a different stage of life with a bit more time. My IG and Blog feature my new hobbies and interests and I have focused my efforts on fitness, my passion for tennis cooking, swim wear, and activewear and oh, building a Disney Travel Agency.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Show me the new mom who has a smooth road and I’ll bet she has an Au Pair. I should take that back.
Stay at home motherhood with 3 kids under 4 is one struggle after another. Kids test you in ways you can’t predict and don’t expect- until you really take a hard look in the mirror. The deep, dark, depths of isolation, depression and questioning of every thing I ever thought I knew to be true is over, now that the kids are older, but as they say, “big kids, big problems”
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Magic Makers Travel?
I am a certified Disney Travel Agent. My husband and I started our company in 2023 (with all of the free time we have). We are Disney Vacation Club Members, Annual Pass Holders, and Disney Experts. We have taken over 30 Disney vacations with the kids over the past 7 Years and have traveled with them at every age and stage. It is our goal for every one of our families to feel comfortable and confident in the Disney Vacation they are ready to embark on. We assist by creating custom itineraries and offering full concierge services every step of the way.
From the blog standpoint, Stay at Home Mom with No Job has evolved but the core message and what I hope other moms take away hasn’t changed. There’s no one way a mom should look, act or feel. There’s no right, or easy pathway through motherhood. As moms, we can do things differently and still want the same outcome. At the end of the day, we are all just trying to raise kind humans.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Spending every summer at the pool with my mom and sisters and traveling every Easter to Naples, Florida.
