Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrissy Cavotta.
Hi Chrissy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
First of all…it will never ever feel real to me that publishers deem me interesting enough to feature me in yet, ANOTHER, article. It is so extremely flattering and a complete honor to be featured here! I am a former Women’s Clothing Boutique owner turned Event Coordinator. My love for event planning began in 2011 when I produced my very first fashion show. Smash cut to 2025 and I have now produced over 80 Fashion Shows and just within the last year, executed over 25 events. I got where I am today because I believed in myself and my craft, and I wanted to share it with the city of Cleveland. The love and support I continue to receive from family, friends, the local Fashion Community, and those who attend my events is a precious gift that I will never take for granted.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This question could not have come at a better time. If the road is constantly “smooth” you are probably going in the wrong direction. Adversity will occur, it will get tumultuous, this just means you’re on the cusp of growth or a major breakthrough. It all comes down to how you handle hardships and setbacks. My biggest business struggles have been due to being an overly trusting individual. Not everyone has your best interest at heart, they will often times take your kindness for weakness and view you as an easy target. This has happened to me on two different occasions (2024 & 2025) during my Events career, and I vow not to allow myself to fall into a trap like that ever again. After those two major wakeup calls, I have trained myself to operate differently as I move forward. Being fully aware of who you are conducting business with is the first step to building successful and beneficial work relationships for all parties involved. Trials and tribulations are character builders, and that’s the silver lining.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I was recently referred to as a “Tastemaker” and I absolutely fell in love with that term. I am an Event Coordinator and Production Manager with a major focus on Fashion Shows and Fashion related events. With each event I curate, my main goal is that guests leave with a memorable, elating and overall exhilarating experience. I am most proud of the fact that I put my dignity and integrity before anything else. In the fashion and entertainment industry, as you can probably imagine, you are going to encounter people who will stop at absolutely nothing to get to the next step of their careers, even if it means compromising their own values. I am extremely proud of that fact that I will NEVER let anything get in the way of my moral compass. If it does not gel with my beliefs and what I represent as a person, it is not for me, and I can stand on that. In April of 2025, I was in a position where I chose to walk away from a massive opportunity because there were many things that went against my personal ethics and principles. What I can confidently say is that if does not truly align with my character, I will gracefully see my way out of it and won’t think twice or ever look back.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
There are a few instances from my childhood that I remember vividly. I grew up in Twinsburg, Ohio in a neighborhood with kids around my age in almost every house on the street. Summers on Waldo Way were exactly like what you would see in a 90’s movie. Kids jump roping, playing hopscotch, drawing all over every driveway and sidewalk with chalk, bike riding, skip-it, hacky sack, you name it. When the evening hit, we would still all be outside with our little jars trying to catch as many fireflies as possible until our parents let us know it was time to come in. This nostalgic imagery will forever live rent free in my head.
Our family took a trip to Disney every year growing up, and those vacations are also engrained in my mind. Sand, sun, ocean, pool…I have always loved being in the water and around it. On one of our yearly trips to Florida at two years old, I took off my water wings and jumped into the pool while my Mom and Dad stood there in shock before they realized what was happening. I was swimming on my own at a very young age and ended up being a backstroke Champion on my Swim team years later.
I also remember when I fell in love with trendy clothes and picking out my outfits. I would choose my own clothing every morning when I was just a little girl and would constantly get compliments from people when my Mom took me out shopping or to run errands. That is when I truly become enamored with self-expression through style and fashion.
