Meet Cassandra A. Pacheco Calderon of Savannah , GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra A. Pacheco Calderon.

Hi Cassandra A., can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I originally grew up in a small town called Ulm, which is located in Germany. My mother moved us to the United States when I was around 9 years old and it completely changed my life. When we moved, we left everything behind, including friends and family, in exchange for the possibility of a better life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Adapting to a new language, culture, and way of living was hard at first. However, I soon found joy in my learning process and have developed a passion for helping others.
Throughout school, I volunteered a lot of my time in the Special Education Program where I assisted students in their studies. Aside from entering the work force at 14, I also babysat for many different families as well as church organizations. My final years of high school I completed the Teacher Cadet Program where I learned more about early childhood development and had the opportunity to shadow many amazing teachers within the Beaufort County School System.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
In college I discovered my passion for modeling and acting. While being a full time student and working my regular job. I found many opportunities working on commercials and advertisements with local businesses and am blessed to say that I even appear on a few tv shows and movies. The most amazing experience for me was getting to work directly with the main cast behind the scenes on these projects but you can find me on Netflix in Season 8 of Fear the Walking Dead.
Acting has also allowed me to find new volunteer opportunities such as role playing for local military training, as well as acting for EMS and EMTs “mass violence training” which ensures that paramedics and other emergency personnel are better prepared for real life scenarios.
To date, my favorite volunteer opportunity has been working with the Humane Society by fostering animals in need. So far I have fostered 6 animals, rescued 3, and adopted 4 fur babies.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Within the next few years I plan to continue making an impact on my community and follow my many passions. You truly only get one life so why not live it to the fullest?
I have an amazing support system including my parents and husband, however, one more addition is on the way! I am excited to start my own family and continue to lead with kindness and love.
