Meet Adam McCauley of TRASHLER

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam McCauley

Hi Adam, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Trashler’s story is deeply rooted in a calling to serve others. As a minister and founder of Dirty Shoes Church, my faith in Jesus Christ has always taught me that true leadership means serving others – even in what some might consider the humblest of tasks. This principle directly shaped Trashler’s mission.

The name ‘Trashler’ represents more than just wrestling with waste management; it symbolizes our commitment to shoulder burdens for others, inspired by Christ’s example of servant leadership. When we launched in Greenville, SC, it wasn’t just about filling a market gap – it was about creating a service that genuinely helps our neighbors and community.

Our approach to business reflects these values: whether we’re helping an elderly resident who can’t manage their heavy trash bins, assisting a busy family juggling multiple responsibilities, or serving an entire apartment community, every interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate care and excellence in service.

As we grow, this foundation of faith-based service remains at our core, guiding how we treat every client, handle every bin, and approach every opportunity to serve our community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, especially one driven by faith and purpose, our road has had its share of challenges. Being transparent, we’re currently in our early stages, working to establish our foothold in the Greenville market while balancing multiple responsibilities.

One of our biggest challenges has been the juggling act. As a husband, father of 5, a full-time job, and serving as a preacher, finding the right work-life rhythm has been crucial. My day starts early with prayer and Bible study, followed by Trashler operations, then my regular job from 8 AM to 4 PM, and often more business dealings in the evening. This schedule has been demanding, but it’s teaching me valuable lessons about persistence and time management. The most amazing thing is, by putting the Lord first, He ensures I still have time to be who I need to be for my family. It also helps that they are working in every aspect of this with me. We are truly a family business.

Financially, we’re in that critical early stage where we’re investing in growth while being mindful of resources.

Another challenge has been market education. As the only provider of can-to-curb service in the tricounty area, we’re not just selling a service – we’re introducing a new concept to many homeowners and property managers. This means we’re not just building a business; we’re building awareness about professional trash management services.

But these challenges haven’t deterred us. If anything, they’ve strengthened our resolve and helped us focus on what matters most – serving our community with excellence and integrity. We’ve responded by developing systematic approaches, creating detailed SOPs, and investing in route optimization software to maximize efficiency.

What keeps us going is knowing that every challenge we overcome helps us better serve our community and fulfill our mission of providing professional, reliable service with a servant’s heart. The only way that we can fail would be to quit.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My greatest happiness comes from my relationship with Jesus Christ. As both a minister and business owner, I find profound joy in living out my faith daily. Whether I’m preparing for my role as Lead Pastor at Dirty Shoes Church launching this spring in Travelers Rest, or serving our community through Trashler, everything stems from this foundation.

Second to my faith is my beautiful family. Being a father of five with the most wonderful wife on the planet brings immeasurable joy to my life. Despite my early wake-ups for prayer and Bible study, followed by a full day of work and service, the time I spend with my family is precious and non-negotiable. Sundays are especially sacred for us – it’s our time dedicated to family and the Lord.

Preaching the gospel brings me a unique kind of happiness that’s hard to put into words. Teaching Sunday school and Bible study allows me to share the transformative power of God’s word, and there’s nothing quite like seeing that message touch someone’s life.

Finally, I’ve discovered that true joy comes through serving others. This philosophy is woven into everything we do at Trashler. When we help an elderly resident who can’t manage their heavy trash bins, or assist a disabled individual in maintaining their independence, we’re not just providing a service – we’re showing Christ’s love in practical ways. It’s amazing how something as simple as managing trash bins can become an opportunity to demonstrate care and make a real difference in someone’s life.

This combination – faith, family, preaching, and service – creates a life full of purpose and genuine happiness. It’s not always easy balancing these different roles, but when you’re doing what you’re called to do, even the challenges become opportunities for joy.
