Today we’d like to introduce you to Thomas Wilson Pace.
Thomas Wilson , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2011 I was Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Bachelor of the year. From there, I had a few modeling agencies reach out to me. I started modeling shortly after, and then began going on auditions for acting as well. When Covid hit, the gigs slowed down, but I felt like I still needed to find a creative outlet, so I started making Tiktoks with my friends. The videos that really started to catch on though was our Hallmark parody videos. Seeing the success of those videos was the first moment I realized I could do this full time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Making content is literally the biggest emotional rollercoaster. You spend so much time on one on video thinking it’s going to go viral, and then it flops. And then you make another video thinking well let’s just get something up, thinking it probably won’t do that well, and then it goes viral. Some days you think you have it all figured out, while other days you feel like you have no idea what people might actually want to see.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As mentioned before, I make content for mostly Instagram and Tiktok. The content we are known most for is our Hallmark parody videos. I usually play “Small Town Guy” while my friend Jessica Valdes plays “Big City Girl”. Our other videos include 90’s and 2000 sitcom and movie parodies. I’d say the video I’m most proud of would be our Hallmark pumpkin patch video. It was the first real viral video we had and pretty much set up my career on the path to where it is today. What’s funny is I just sort of came up with it. We were driving past a pumpkin patch and I was jokingly quoting a Hallmark movie and then decided to write a funny skit down and went back and filmed it. I posted it thinking okay if it gets 100,000 views I’ll be happy with it. It ended up getting 29 million on IG and 15 million on Tiktok.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite book is the Bible. I read it every morning and try to live my life as much like Jesus as possible. Trust me, I often fail daily in doing so, but that’s the beauty of his grace and mercy for us. And that definitely bleeds into my content as I try to make family friendly content that everyone can watch and enjoy.
