Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started photography in 2010 working with DJ Blaze & DJ Nova for Pyro Entertainment, covering nightlife and events in Florence, South Carolina. What started as simply wanting to capture the energy and atmosphere of the clubs quickly turned into a real passion for storytelling through photography. Over the years, I expanded from nightlife and entertainment into portraits, weddings, commercial work, political campaigns, and lifestyle photography.
As my experience grew, so did my creativity and professionalism. I invested in learning lighting, editing, and how to create images that feel both cinematic and authentic. Photography has allowed me to work with a wide variety of people and brands while building lasting relationships with clients across South Carolina and beyond.
Today, photography is more than just a career for me it’s a way to connect with people, preserve meaningful moments, and create visuals that leave an impact. I continue to push myself creatively while growing my business and expanding into new opportunities within the industry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been building a photography business while constantly adapting to changes in the industry, technology, and life circumstances. In the beginning, I had to learn everything through experience from camera settings and lighting to client communication, marketing, and running a business professionally.
There were also financial challenges that came with investing into equipment, software, travel, and continuing to grow my brand. Like many creatives, there were times where balancing passion with stability was difficult, especially during slower seasons or while trying to expand into new markets.
Another challenge has been standing out in a very competitive industry while staying true to my own style and vision. Over the years, I’ve learned the importance of consistency, professionalism, and building genuine relationships with clients. Every obstacle taught me something valuable and helped shape me not only as a photographer, but also as a business owner and person.
Despite the challenges, those experiences pushed me to keep evolving, improving my craft, and continuing to pursue photography at a higher level.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a professional photographer and creative director with over 15 years of experience specializing in portraits, weddings, events, lifestyle, and commercial photography. My career started in nightlife and entertainment photography, but over time I expanded into capturing everything from political campaigns and luxury events to personal milestones and branding content.
What I’m most known for is my ability to create images that feel authentic, cinematic, and emotionally connected while still maintaining a polished, professional look. I focus heavily on lighting, storytelling, and creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable in front of the camera. Whether I’m photographing a wedding, a portrait session, or a live event, I aim to capture real moments with a creative edge.
One thing that sets me apart is my versatility. I’ve been able to adapt to many different styles and environments while continuing to grow creatively over the years. I’m equally comfortable working in fast-paced event environments, studio settings, outdoor locations, or commercial shoots. I also take pride in building strong relationships with clients and delivering an experience that feels personal, professional, and memorable.
What I’m most proud of is the longevity of my career and the trust people continue to place in me to capture important moments in their lives. Photography has allowed me to turn creativity into a career while constantly evolving both as an artist and as a business owner.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was discovering my creativity at a young age and always being drawn to anything artistic or visual. I remember spending a lot of time outside with friends and family, enjoying simple moments that felt meaningful and carefree. Those experiences taught me how to appreciate people, energy, and emotion which later became a huge part of how I approach photography today.
I also have a lot of great memories connected to music, community events, and being around creative environments growing up in South Carolina. Looking back, many of those moments inspired the passion I eventually turned into a career. What I cherish most is the feeling of connection, freedom, and imagination that came with childhood, and I still try to bring that same feeling into my work and everyday life.
