Today we’d like to introduce you to Preston Marion.

Hi Preston, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been around boats and on the water my whole life. I began working in the new boat manufacturing world in 2017 for Xplor Boatworks in Columbia, SC. In 2023 I had an opportunity to get into fiberglass and gel coat repair in Anderson, SC. Absolute Marine was founded then. Since then we have grown our service area from North, GA to Western, NC and all over SC.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles when operating a business. We have been fortune to have great people work for us and support us throughout our journey. Rising material cost and shipping delays can really impact your work flow schedule.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Absolute Marine specalizes in fiberglass repair and construction. We can create new fiberglass parts, repair old parts, and anything in between. We specalize in gel coat repair, cosmetic and structural fiberglass, as well as, custom paint and metal flake repair jobs. Our team and facility allow is to make high quality repairs in a timely manner. We also handle several insurance claims per year and can make this experience much easier on the customer.

We are proud of the quality of work we put out for our customers and the quick turn around time we able to do it in.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was always enjoyed being on the water and working with my hands. It has taken me a while to find a good career fit, but I finally feel like I am in the right spot.
