Today we’d like to introduce you to Margie Gerald.
Hi Margie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
How I started my business was 6 years ago, I wanted to learn a new hobby to make a little extra money. It started off a little rough because I was looking for supplies in bulk, to keep me from spending money just about everyday for supplies, especially when I needed them right away. As time processed I learned the ropes and it became easy. My business started to grow when I started advertising on social media. I didn’t expect it to really pick up that quick. That’s how it started from then till now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Lord No!!! It was not a smooth road. I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into. Some of the struggles was learning how to make things. I would make something and it didn’t look right, so I started over. The roughy part was wasting supplies because it didn’t come out right.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in just about everything. First I started with making earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. As time processed, I begin making memorial pendants, like necklaces with pictures, keychains with pictures. I then began customizing mugs and Tumblers. Now I do T-shirts and graduation items to party items. I’m mostly proud of what I can actually design and customize. What sat me apart from others would be my stuff is different and I put a lot of effort in making it, that means lots of time and love.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Making someone happy or just putting a smile on their face.
