Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Henderly.
Hi Mandy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a yoga therapist who lives in Hendersonville and has an office in Travelers Rest, SC. My yoga therapy practice is a part of Table Rock Integrative Health and Wellness, and I provide yoga therapy to support mental well-being.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I first started teaching yoga, I was hustling teaching as many classes as I could per week. I did that for two years, and it felt like an uphill climb. I got overlooked and passed over many times, which was so disheartening. However, one of my former teachers connected me with Dr. Dimitrova, and that felt really smooth and aligned.

What sets yoga therapy apart from a typical group yoga class? Yoga therapy is highly individualized and supportive of holistic well-being. As a yoga therapist, my job is not to diagnose or pathologize. My job is to see the whole human being in front of me and help them remember their essential wholeness. I think people really thrive in supportive environments where they have the space to be seen and heard., and I think that’s one of the things that sets yoga therapy apart.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
People might not now that I love to write and have my own Sub Stack. I actually went to colleyfor English and Writing and have a Master’s in English.
