Life & Work with Keoshia Huffman of St. Matthews, SC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keoshia Huffman.

Hi Keoshia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Press 2 Success LLC in July of 2017, off of an 8-year pageant platform where I held the titles of Teen Miss. Black Orangeburg County, Teen Miss. Black SC, Miss. Black International, and Miss. Black SC USA. PRESS was my way of showing that anyone can have the ability/Power to tackle obstacles in their life, they can conquer/Revolution their dreams to become reality while creating accomplishments through their Educational & Evolving journey, with their spirit/Self-Confidence becoming rich in happiness, and lastly gaining the total control/SWAY over their life if they PRESS 2 Success. From age 18 to now 26, I found myself self-counseling through loving what I do, but helping others find and navigate through their journeys to success is a bonus. I want my impact to be an everlasting reminder to the lives that I come in contact with to be able to remember that even from a small town, big dreams arose, and the life I live will speak for me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am beyond proud that, no matter the financial circumstances of Press 2 Success LLC, we continued to expand into different programming & opportunities for others around South Carolina. Being self-funded and LLC-based has hindered us from a lot of grant opportunities to continue to provide services to the elderly, youth, and homeless of SC.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My name is Keoshia Zhane’ Huffman. I am 26 years old and hail from a small town named North, SC. I am pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of South Carolina, Columbia Campus. Before USC, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Social Justice, along with minors in both Public Health and Communications from Coastal Carolina University. I have a host of certifications, and the one I admire the most is my certification in Women’s Entrepreneurship from eCornell University. Currently, I serve as a Family & Community Engagement AmeriCorps Member for Calhoun County First Steps, and I am also a Child Service Professional for Wright Directions Family Services. In my spare time, I help out at my grandparents’ restaurant, Huffman’s Fish & Chick Restaurant, in North, SC. Even with a busy schedule, I always find time to serve my community. I am the founder of Press 2 Success LLC, through which I have awarded over 15 scholarships to high school seniors and hosted annual workshops and luncheons focused on employment, education, and empowering girls, women, and communities. I also founded a mentoring group called PRESS Gurls Academy LLC for young ladies ages 5 to 17 in public schools. Additionally, I established an after-school program in Calhoun County, SC, named Press Scholars Academy, which was launched to provide students outside of regular school hours with academic enrichment activities with a self-funded feeding program. Within this program, I implemented programs and opportunities for children with diverse abilities. Lastly, I have hosted countless givebacks and community feedings in South Carolina for the homeless, elderly, and youth.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as being happy with what you are doing, having meaningful goals, and working towards them with passion and determination. Success is not solely measured by material wealth or societal accolades, but by the joy and satisfaction you derive from your journey and the positive impact you have on those around you. True success encompasses personal growth, contentment, and the ability to inspire and uplift others while staying true to your values and aspirations. Remember, the life you live will speak for you in all aspects of your life.
