Today we’d like to introduce you to Janice Myers.
Hi Janice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a retired military family, and the heart and soul behind Go-N-NUTZ. We have always had a driven desire to think outside the box and be creative. From this desire our baby(GO-N-NUTZ) was born. Our love for boiled peanuts and flavors collided and created our first flavor which was lemon pepper. And shortly after 9 more flavors came . Thereafter we found out that not only did our creation taste amazing but, had also became a craze in the city . At this point we realized that a tent and our ten pots were not enough so we purchased our first mobile trailer. The demand continued to sky rocket so we had to purchased a second trailer, to meet, request and multiple locations. We continued our operation with the 2 mobile trailers for about 6 months traveling with Foodees food truck festivals and serving areas up I20, I26 and I95 while also, servicing Columbia @ Soda City, Us Metro 1, Doko Manor and lake Carolina. These locations operate only on certain days of the week which for our customers created a FOMO. We would received multiple requests on a day to day basis on days that we didn’t operate for peanuts. Because of continuous request from phone calls emails and social media we realized that it was imperative to open a Go-N-NUTZ store. (736 Harden St . Columbia, SC 29205) So on March 2025 that’s exactly what we did right in the heart of USC and downtown Columbia ! We can’t express our love and appreciation enough for each and every customer . They are family to us as we are to them. We exist solely because God blessed us with creativity and loving customers . Despite being less than 2 years old, Go-N-NUTZ will continue to create our own lane so make way world because we are coming to a city near you with our mouth watering flavors Original, Cajun, BBQ, Lemon Pepper, Salt & Vinegar, Ranch, Teriyaki, Honey Mustard, Dill Pickle, and our bonus flavor curry!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the Challenges we’ve meet on our Journey were juggling finance and scaling the business as well as maintaining our family life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My husband ( Shaqun )is a Retired Army Veteran , while he was enlisted he was a Dental lab Technician. Myself (Janice ) have always worked with mentally challenged adults and children. We both I guess were always in some act of servicing people. We both have hearts deep as ovens for others which is a quality we both are proud to say we possess. The thing that sets us apart we think from others is the element of FEAR ! We don’t have any lol well I guess unlike most we are not afraid to try. If we fail guess what we learned something along the way so if not just education it was well work it out.
What makes you happy?
The gift of life itself and Grace from God.! Our Family traveling, trying new experiences and a good laugh along with a good movie so we can cuddle up together and taking a cruise on our motorcycle so we can wusa.
