Hi Erin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For years, I styled family and friends for special occasions just for fun. After one friend encouraged me to turn it into a business, I received my Image Consultant certification in 2017 and officially started offering wardrobe styling services in 2018. Since then, Erin Nicole Styling has grown tremendously.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but the challenges have helped shape my business into what it is today. When I first started out, I was still working as a nurse practitioner full time. At times, it was difficult finding the time and energy to put into building my business outside of a demanding career. Another challenge I’ve had to overcome is putting myself out there. I’ve had to get comfortable with showing up on social media, sharing my knowledge, and hoping that the right clients would find me. There have also been times when business was a lot slower than I hoped but those moments allowed me to invest in my skills, refine my brand, and become more intentional about the projects I pursue.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Erin Nicole Styling is a wardrobe styling business focused on helping people feel confident in what they wear. I specialize in branding and photoshoot styling, special events, wardrobe planning, and group styling. I am most proud of the transformation I see in my clients throughout the process. I want them to realize that style is not just about clothing, but it’s about helping them feel their best. My personalized approach sets me apart from others. With a background as a nurse practitioner, I know the importance of listening to and understanding each person’s individual needs. I bring that same level of care to styling, creating looks that reflect my clients’ unique personalities.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Canva is probably the resource that I use the most. It’s become an essential part of my creative process, whether I’m designing client mood boards, creating marketing materials and presentations, or developing social media content. It helps me bring my ideas to life while staying organized.
