Today we’d like to introduce you to Desmond Darby.
Hi Desmond, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business back in 2016. I didn’t really take it serious until 2019 when Covid came into place. I started detailing out of a garage and was charging $35-$55 on some vehicles that were way bigger than me. I was working a full time job as a financial crimes specialist and I was doing this detailing business on the side to bring in extra income for me at the time. As I noticed the money was getting greater on the detailing side. I prayed and talk to God about it. Took a risk and decided to do it full time when I’m done working my 9-5 job I was fulfilling. I got a call and was laid off from my 9-5. So I decided to go full revamp and trust God in every aspect of my life. I got mentored by one of my best friends and he took me under his wings showed me the wrongs and rights of the business. I practice my craft each day and put more focus on what God wanted me to do in this field. Here we are 9 years later and all praise to the most high because he has never let me struggle.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth road but it has been obstacles that stood in my way. One of the struggles was trying to keep customers and building clientele for my business. I had a lot of people in my ear tell me my business wouldn’t last. It discourage me but made me go harder because I know the God I serve. He put me in this field for a reason. So I know without a doubt I have a purpose in this field. He is going to guide me through and set my expectations how I wanted them too but in his way. Again, 9 years in this and I have touched so many vehicles that I can’t keep count. It’s amazing seeing people know you off your business and your work ethic. Getting references and opportunities from celebrities is a big blessing because I’m in rooms with people I do not know. They know me and my business. It’s just a blessing.

My name is Desmond Darby. I am a paint correction specialist and restoration specialist for vehicles. We do paint corrections, ceramic coatings, waxing, interior detailing, and much more. What I am most proud of is my business of how it grew in a little garage I was in to where my work is global. People call me all the time due to the amazing review off of Google listing and my Facebook listing I have for Done Right Auto Detailing LLC. What set me apart from others is that God is all in this business. I walk with God in this business everywhere I go and when I walk in a room. They can seem him on me and I get offered so much opportunity.
