Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrisee Mignot.
Hi Chrisee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to SC in 2009 after being laid off from my pharmaceutical job in PA. I always had a love of animals and worked with animals throughout my life and decided to start my own dog walking business here. It took off and I met so many great people in the industry and families that trusted me with their furry four legged kids. I love the job, I know the families and seeing their different stages of life. Some are getting engaged and married, some are getting divorced and some are retired and moving here to be closer with their grandkids. It’s all different times of their life and I am lucky enough to be taking care of their pets for them while they are at work or traveling.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have had struggles finding good dependable people to work for me. I don’t just hire anyone, they need to be a great fit for my small team. Also Covid was a slower time for us since no one was traveling and people were working from home.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We specialize in daily dog walks and cat sitting. I think my personality and love of animals helps people feel comfortable when they are choosing a sitter or walker for their pet. They know I will put in extra time for shy animals that may need more time to warm up to people.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
When I was younger I used to show horses. I would live, eat and breathe anything with horses. If I wasn’t home I was usually at a show or trail riding. I miss it so much but love my job and enjoy all the animals I spend time with everyday.
