Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Bishop
Hi Briana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been a go-getter by nature, and I’d spent years trying to figure out how to take my gifts and passions and turn them into a business! I’ve tried many different things from recruiting to sales and business development, but never truly felt that spark in my professional life until I became a User Generated Content (UGC) creator in 2023.
I used to dream of becoming a full time social media “influencer”, but once I was introduced to the concept of UGC, I was instantly hooked! I quickly discovered that UGC is quite different from typical influencing. I didn’t need a massive social media following to become a UGC creator— I just needed to learn how to shoot and edit video content and create social media ads using products I already owned. I also started sharing my authentic behind-the-scenes journey of becoming a content creator with my growing audience on TikTok, and pretty soon I began to attract brands that wanted to collaborate with me to promote their products through UGC!
Since starting just a year ago, I’ve had the chance to work with some pretty notable brands like Dove, Next Insurance, Workvivo by Zoom, Westmore Beauty, ALT Fragrances, Archies Footwear, Revel Nail, and more!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Everyone’s journey is different, and mine has definitely had its ups and downs. Being a content creator forces you into a world where everything you post is subject to criticism. I’ve definitely dealt with my fair share of trolls in my comment section, but telling myself that I’ll likely never meet them in real life typically does the trick!
Imposter syndrome is another big challenge for me as a creator. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing myself to other amazing creators out there! I’ve learned to simply draw inspiration from the creators I admire. I like to remind myself that I’m just as talented and creative as the creators I compare myself to, and to give myself credit for what I bring to the table!
We each have our own unique style and voice, and it’s our job to bring that out and let it shine through our content. There’s more than enough room for each and every one of us, so I try to focus on that rather than feeling like I don’t measure up.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Account Based Marketing Specialist by day, and a User Generated Content Creator by night! I’ve built an exciting side hustle working with brands across various niches, helping them tell their story through engaging video content. I love connecting with consumers and grabbing their attention with scroll-stopping scripts and snappy video edits!
The highlight of my UGC career so far has been landing a collaboration with Dove! Never in a million years did I think that I’d be working with brands that I’ve been using since I was a little girl, and I’m so grateful that UGC makes these opportunities possible.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I’ll never forget the Barbie jeep my parents got me for Christmas when I was five!
