Life & Work with Andrea Fabian of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Fabian.

Hi Andrea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I picked up a camera over a decade ago with no idea it would lead me here. Today, I’m lucky enough to photograph weddings across Arizona, Charleston, and incredible destinations around the world. Every place is different, but my approach stays the same—keeping you present while creating images that feel honest, joyful, and timeless.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many in the wedding industry, COVID completely reshaped the way I did business. It challenged me to rethink everything—from the client experience to how I photographed intimate celebrations—and ultimately pushed me to build a business that is more flexible, intentional, and focused on serving couples wherever their story takes them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in creating an experience where couples can truly be present on their wedding day. While I love creating beautiful, creative portraits, I also know the most meaningful moments happen when you’re with the people you love. My approach is all about balance—capturing artistic, intentional images without making couples feel like they’re spending the entire day in front of a camera. I’m most proud when my couples tell me they felt relaxed, had fun, and were able to fully enjoy their wedding, knowing every meaningful moment was being documented. Every wedding is different, and my goal is always to tell the story in a way that reflects who my couples are, not just what the day looked like.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I think luck has played a role, but probably not in the way people imagine. Some of the biggest opportunities in my career came from simple conversations, referrals, or being in the right place at the right time. What mattered most was being prepared to make the most of those opportunities when they came.
