Life & Work with A. Troy Brazzle of Columbia Sc

Today we’d like to introduce you to A. Troy Brazzle.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The passing of my mother was a devastating time for me. She was an outgoing loving individual who’s departure was greatly felt. In honor of her my sister and I went to decorate her final resting place. We didn’t have enough stones to fully cover her grave so I created four hearts for each one of her children took a picture and posted it on Facebook. Alot of ppl who knew my mom loved it. I received messages in my inbox saying that I should do something with it. So I decided to do another design this time it was a 4 hearts with a bird in the middle I took a picture and posted it on Facebook. People seemed to really like it. I then started receiving request for me to do the sites of others loved ones which at that time I wasn’t ready it was just for her (Mom). It was something that I know would put a smile on her face because she always loved my artwork. It had been a while since I’ve drawn anything but this brought it back out. I received a request from a friend of the family whose design was animated and colorful and I just thought it would be so different so I did it took a picture and posted. Friends on Facebook loved it and shared it and that was the beginning of InStone works of Art.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Finding ways to construct rock into the desired design was difficult at first. That and the time it takes to construct is very meticulous work I also added epoxy to the creation of the designs for more durability. Mixing the epoxy sometimes can be a strenuous.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve worked in the landscaping field for a while even went to school for it. In Stone works of Art is something that I’m very proud of because from the ashes Rose a Phoenix almost like a gift from her (Mom). Every stone used is chosen .

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
