Inspiring Conversations with Victoria McMillin of Job Coach Victoria

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria McMillin.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My first job out of college was as a Recruiter at a staffing company, and I fell in love with the work fast. Within a few years I had been promoted twice-first to Account Executive, then to Sales Manager- running the office while I was still in my 20’s.

Since then I’ve worn just about every hat in the industry. What I noticed along the way is that I’d been sitting on both sides of the table the whole time. Working with candidates trying to land the right role, and with the hiring managers making the final call. That’s a rare vantage point, and it showed me something that stuck me; so many talented people simply don’t know how to navigate the job market. Not because they aren’t qualified, but because no one ever showed them how hiring actually works from the inside.

I knew I could do more with what I’d learned- so I set out on my own to help people directly. And that’s how Job Coach Victoria was born.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Honestly, no- and I don’t think it should be. Building something meaningful rarely is.

The biggest challenge has been doing it all while holding down a demanding full-time career, as well as raising two young children. What kept me going was hearing back from people who told me one piece of advice that changed how they altered their resume, showed up in an interview, or negotiated an offer. That feedback has made the building part worth it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At its heart, Job Coach Victoria helps job seekers navigate the hiring process with confidence- by pulling back the curtain on how hiring works.

I specialize in the practical tools that make the biggest difference: resumes that don’t get skipped in the first six second, LinkedIn profiles that actually get found, and interview strategies that help you build real rapport instead of rehearsed answers. My digital products- like my Plug and Play Resume Kit, and LinkedIn Glow-Up Kit, are designed to be exactly that: “plug in, follow the framework, and go” tools.

If there’s one thing that I’d want readers to know, its this: you’re not underqualified, you’re just often uncoached. The job market has a language and a rhythm, and once you understand how it works from the inside, everything changes. That’s what I am here to give people.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best place to find me is on Instagram at @jobcoachvictoria. That is where I share free tips, breakdowns, and insider advice every week, and it’s the easiest way to start a conversation with me. You can also find me at my website www.jobcoachvictoria.com.

Whether you’re actively job hunting or just want to be ready when the right opportunity comes, I’d love to have you follow along and see what resonates. And if my work helps you land your next role, tell a friend who’s in the thick of it-word of mouth means everything to a small business like mine.
