Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Sigler.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I became a licensed cosmetologist while I was still in high school, but it didn’t take long for me to realize that my true passion was in nail care. During that time, I was nominated to compete in a statewide nail competition in South Carolina, where I placed third. Even though one of my structured nails popped during the competition, that moment still stands out as a defining experience that confirmed I was exactly where I needed to be.
After graduating high school, I continued working as a nail technician throughout college. Over the next four years, my clientele grew into more than just clients—they became like family. Through consistency, referrals, and relationships, I built a loyal base that supported me every step of the way.
After earning my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, I followed a more traditional path and entered the corporate world. For thirteen years, I worked in corporate roles, guided by the mindset that success meant getting a degree, securing a stable job, and staying the course. While I was grateful for those opportunities, I quickly realized that path was not fully aligned with my purpose.
Even during my corporate career, I never stopped doing nails. After each workday, I would go straight into servicing clients. It became clear that what I once considered a side passion was actually a calling.
As I approached my tenth year in corporate, I began to feel a deeper pull toward something greater. I remember being told to step away from doing nails and focus on using my degrees—including my Master’s of Public Administration (MPA), Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), and Human Resource Certification—but in my spirit, I knew I was being led in a different direction.
In October 2019, while on a flight back from Jamaica, I made a life-changing decision. I knew it was time to move forward in faith. Shortly after, I prayed for clarity and direction, asking God to reveal His plan for me—and I was ready to receive it.
In December 2019, I received that confirmation. I stepped out on faith and began working for myself as a full-time nail technician. By the middle of my very first day, I experienced the freedom, fulfillment, and alignment I had been searching for.
As my journey continued, another transition presented itself. The salon where I was working began to downsize, and I recognized it as an opportunity to build something of my own. On December 30, 2022, Serenity Spa of Sumter—A Place of Peace—was born.
Serenity Spa was created with intention. It’s more than a nail salon—it’s a space where people can exhale, slow down, and not feel rushed or overlooked. Every detail is centered around creating an experience of peace, care, and restoration.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not—like many others, my path has not been without challenges. Through life experiences, personal loss, and even betrayal, I’ve developed a level of resilience that has shaped both who I am and what Serenity Spa of Sumter stands for.
I’ve learned not to expect myself from others, and that understanding has allowed me to lead with more grace, patience, and intention. Those experiences taught me the importance of having a safe and peaceful space—not just for myself, but for every person who walks through my doors.
That is the foundation of Serenity Spa. It’s more than a service—it’s an environment built on real-life self care.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Serenity Spa of Sumter?
Serenity Spa of Sumter is more than a nail salon—it’s an experience centered around intentional care, peace, and connection. From the services we provide to the atmosphere we create, everything is designed to ensure our clients feel seen, valued, and restored. Whether someone comes in for a quick service or a full day of pampering, my goal is that they leave feeling lighter than when they walked in.
Building Serenity Spa of Sumter has always been about more than business—it’s about community. It’s about creating opportunities, empowering others, and setting a standard of excellence in both service and professionalism. I am extremely grateful to continue growing and evolving with the ongoing support of my clients.
At Serenity Spa of Sumter, we specialize in intentional, high-quality nail care and elevated self-care experiences. As an appointment-only salon, we are able to provide a more personalized and focused experience for every guest.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see a major shift in the nail and spa industry toward becoming full wellness hubs rather than just traditional service providers. Clients are no longer seeking only aesthetic results—they’re looking for spaces where they can decompress, mentally reset, and experience true relaxation and healing.
I believe services that intentionally combine mind, body, and beauty will continue to grow in demand, as people prioritize self-care, stress management, and overall well-being. This evolution creates strong opportunities for businesses that can deliver both high-quality services and restorative experiences.
