Today we’d like to introduce you to Taralee Cayce.
Hi Taralee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My path into the wellness world began as a yoga teacher and facilitator, where I spent years helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, breath, and mindfulness. As we transplanted to the Columbia area, I felt called to expand that work beyond the mat and into a space where people could experience holistic care in a more immersive way.
When the opportunity arose to acquire an established spa—originally rooted in nail services—I saw the potential to honor what was already thriving while infusing it with a more conscious, holistic approach. My vision is to create a sanctuary that offers massage, facials, and nail care with an emphasis on organic products, safe practices, and the deeper intention of nurturing the whole person.
The journey has been both grounding and transformative. Blending the wisdom of my yoga background with the structure of running a business has taught me so much about leadership, community, and the impact of thoughtful wellness spaces. Today, I’m proud to steward a spa that not only continues its legacy but also reflects my passion for mindful, heart-centered care.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most meaningful journeys, this one hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Stepping into an established business came with its own unique set of challenges. I had to learn the operational side of the spa industry while honoring the systems and staff that were already in place. Merging my vision (and home life) with an existing structure required patience, clear communication, and a lot of listening.
There were also the expected growing pains— navigating supply chain shifts, and ensuring that the transition to more organic and intentional practices happened thoughtfully, a car running into the building, personal shifts ect. On an internal level, shifting from facilitator and teacher to business owner stretched me in ways I didn’t anticipate. It pushed me to grow as a leader, make difficult decisions, and stay grounded in my purpose even when things felt overwhelming.
But every challenge ultimately shaped the business into what it is today—a space that reflects both its long-standing roots and the heart-centered, holistic approach I continue to strive for.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our spa is rooted in the belief that beauty and wellness should feel nourishing, safe, and deeply intentional. Although the business began as a nail salon many years ago, it has grown into a full-service sanctuary offering massage, facials, nails, and self-care experiences. When I stepped into ownership, my goal wasn’t, and certainly isn’t, to reinvent what was already loved, but to continue to elevate it.
We specialize in treatments that honor the body with clean ingredients, skilled practitioners, and practices that support long-term wellbeing. Whether it’s an organic facial, a therapeutic massage, or a natural nail service done with care and safe products.
We’re set apart by the atmosphere we create—clean, inviting, grounding, and intentionally designed to feel like a personal retreat. It’s the balance of long-standing professionalism and warmth that our clients say they notice right away.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
My relationship with risk has evolved over time. I’ve never identified as a ‘high-risk’ person in the traditional sense, but stepping into entrepreneurship taught me that risk is often less about bold leaps and more about trusting yourself in moments of uncertainty. For me, risk is choosing alignment over comfort—listening to that inner pull even when the path ahead isn’t fully mapped out.
Acquiring an established spa was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken. I was stepping into a business with a history, a loyal clientele, and a team who relied on the stability of the space.
I’ve learned that thoughtful, values-aligned risk is a powerful teacher and a catalyst for growth!
