Inspiring Conversations with Suzanne Mayfield of Sweet Tea Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Mayfield.

Hi Suzanne, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Sweet Tea Salon was brought together by my business partner and myself in October 2005. We each had over 10 years experience in the Salon Industry.

Our Mission at Sweet Tea Salon is to provide the highest quality of service in our industry while working in a professional team atmosphere with a commitment to our, education, community, and environment.

We consider each client an individual with his or her own needs and desired results. We strive to fulfill our clients’ expectations.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding staff with the same commitment to education, community and the salon industry.

Becoming sole owner in 2016.

Purchasing the location with my husband and becoming a property management company to other businesses in our space in 2017.

Covid had an intense impact on our business and the cosmetology field. We were forced to close for 6 weeks. I did a lot of product delivery and porch pickups.

We’ve been impressed with Sweet Tea Salon, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sweet Tea has been in business for 21 years. There has been lots of changes in our industry but we stay committed to providing quality in our services and in the products we offer. We are known for giving back to our community, very experienced staff, and top notch service in our industry.

My proudest experiences are when Guest come into Sweet Tea and express to me how welcome they feel, relaxed and less stressed. That’s really what it’s all about for me is making a clients day better.

I have been in the industry for 30 years 26 of those years, I have chosen to specialize in color it’s definitely my passion.
I have had an opportunity to work with and meet the most incredible people from all different walks of life; every story is a new one.
