A side hobby turned into an unexpected passion that I turned into a business. By God’s grace I have been running and managing Marytopnotch braids since 2020.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Chasing your dreams and pursuing your goals is never a smooth road.
For me, gaining and retaining clients has been one of my biggest struggles along the way., especially with the market already saturated with hair stylists and beauticians. Thankfully, this industry has plenty of room for growth and furthering your skills so there’s always enough space for more!

MaryTopNotch Braids, my goal is to provide high-quality, professional braiding services in a welcoming and comfortable environment. I specialize in protective styles, including knotless braids, traditional box braids, feed-in braids, and natural styles tailored to each client’s preferences and lifestyle.
What sets my business apart is my attention to detail, commitment to healthy hair care, and dedication to creating an exceptional client experience from start to finish. I believe every client deserves to feel confident, valued, and beautiful when they leave my chair. I take pride in offering neat, long-lasting styles while maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and outstanding customer service.

I get where I am from God’s grace and guidance… no luck involved!
