Some dreams begin quietly, with a whisper. Others arrive like a warm coastal breeze, impossible to ignore. Beach Hippie Coffee was one of those dreams — born on the sugar-white sands of 30A, long before Myrtle Beach ever knew it was coming.
What started as a family move to care for a father-in-law became the unexpected beginning of a new chapter. What was meant to be temporary felt instantly like home, and Myrtle Beach wrapped our family in the kind of love, warmth, and community that makes you stay. Before we knew it, a dream once imagined on Florida’s Gulf Coast had found its heartbeat here on the Carolina shoreline.
Fueled by a passion for exploring the world one cup of coffee at a time, and a deep love for specialty coffee, we brought that inspiration back to Myrtle Beach. But we didn’t just want to serve coffee — we wanted to create a space where people felt something. A place where kindness lingers, conversations flow freely, and joy is served with every sip.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Awe, the lessons, the scraps, the bumps, and the joy… they all tangle together into what I lovingly call beautiful chaos. Building Beach Hippie Coffee has been a lot like surfing — some days the waves are smooth and effortless, and other days you get tumbled, humbled, and reminded who’s really in control.
There have been early mornings, late nights, unexpected challenges, equipment breakdowns, staffing changes, learning curves, and sacrifices no one sees on Instagram. But woven into all of that has been an overflow of joy — the kind that comes from community, from seeing people connect, from watching a dream become a space that brings life to others.
Every “bump” made us better. Every “scrap” strengthened our grit. Every lesson stretched our faith, creativity, and resilience. And every joyful moment — the smiles, the stories shared over coffee, the regulars who became family — made it all worth it.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been purposeful. And that beautiful chaos? It’s exactly what shaped Beach Hippie into what it is today — authentic, soulful, and full of heart.

We specialize in craft, small-batch specialty coffee, paired with a vibrant, soulful atmosphere that celebrates community, color, creativity, and connection.
We roast our own beans with care and curiosity, creating flavor profiles that excite both the everyday coffee drinker and the specialty coffee enthusiast. From unique seasonal lattes to thoughtfully sourced single origins, we treat coffee as an art form — but we serve it with approachability, warmth, and a smile.
What truly sets us apart is our heart-centered culture. Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Absolutely — mentorship and meaningful relationships have been some of the greatest gifts on this journey. The best advice I can share is this:
Lead with authenticity, not agenda.
People can feel when you’re only connecting to get something from them. True networking isn’t transactional — it’s relational. Show genuine interest, ask curious questions, and honor people’s time and stories. The right mentors are drawn to your heart, not your hustle.
Stay curious and coachable.
Mentors are more willing to pour into someone who is open, hungry to grow, and willing to do the work. The posture of “I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m eager to learn” opens more doors than perfection ever will.
Seek mentors in different lanes.
Some of my most valuable mentors weren’t in coffee — they were in leadership, hospitality, faith, business, and life. Don’t limit yourself to only those in your industry. Sometimes the best wisdom comes from someone who sees your journey from a different, fresh perspective.
Serve first.
Look for ways to add value before asking for help. Celebrate others, support their businesses, show up to their events, or simply speak life into them. Seeds of kindness have a way of returning as unexpected mentorship.
Find your “iron sharpens iron” circle.
Surround yourself with people who challenge you, inspire you, and stretch you — not just cheerleaders, but truth-tellers. The right community won’t let you settle for a smaller version of your potential.
For me personally, what’s worked well has been leaning into community, being willing to ask for help, and praying for the right people to enter my life at the right time. Some mentors came through intentional pursuit; others were divine appointments. But every one of them helped shape Beach Hippie Coffee — and me — into something better.
