Inspiring Conversations with Lisa White of Treat your Desire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa White.

Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my treat business at a time when I knew I was done having kids and needed something to pour myself into. After working in a bakery decorating cakes and dipping strawberries, I knew creating brought me peace.
So I turned that passion into something of my own, and my business became my new baby. I’ve watched it grow from nothing into something I’m truly proud of. Treat Your Desire gave me a new purpose and something of my own to build, nurture, and love.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges of owning a treat business is staying inspired. Trends are always changing, and more people are joining the treat industry every day. You have to continue being creative while staying true to your own style. For me, it’s important that my work stands out and that people can recognize a Treat Your Desire creation when they see it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Treat your Desire?
I own a dessert business specializing in luxury dessert table setups and custom desserts. My goal is for my work to have a signature look, when you see a picture, you know it’s a Treat Your Desire creation. Every dessert is customized to fit my client’s vision, theme, and special occasion. From weddings and anniversaries to birthdays, baby showers, and more, I create desserts that add a special touch to any celebration.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice would be to stay true to yourself. Don’t look at what other treat makers are doing and compare yourself or wish you were where they are. We all have to start somewhere, and none of our treats looked the way they do now when we first started.

Always be open to learning new things, and practice, practice, then practice some more. Most importantly, don’t try to do so much that you burn yourself out and lose the passion for what you love.
