Inspiring Conversations with Kuda Timbe of Eniya Accessories

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kuda Timbe.

Hi Kuda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story begins with heritage, family, and a deep appreciation for the timeless beauty of jewelry. Eniya Accessories isn’t just a jewelry brand — it’s a celebration of culture, confidence, and the personal stories we carry with us every day.

I was born in Zimbabwe and am now based in South Carolina. The journey of Eniya Accessories is rooted in the memory of my ambuyas (grandmothers in Shona). Both of them had an effortless grace with jewelry: no matter where life took them, they always adorned themselves with pieces that made them feel elegant and self-assured. Those moments left a lasting imprint on me, teaching me that jewelry isn’t just about adornment — it’s about how it makes you feel inside.

I remember gifting bangles to my maternal ambuya, Elizabeth, and seeing her joy as she wore them around the house and to family gatherings. Her pride and sparkle inspired me to think of jewelry as confidence you wear — not just something you own. The brand name Eniya honors my paternal ambuya, while our Elizabeth Collection pays tribute to my maternal ambuya’s spirit and style.

What started as a personal homage to those who shaped my sense of beauty has grown into a brand dedicated to helping women express their own grace and confidence. Every piece in our collection is thoughtfully curated to be chic, elegant, and versatile — designed to elevate everyday moments and make every occasion feel special.

Today, Eniya Accessories is my way of carrying forward the legacy of those women and giving others a chance to wear their own story — with intention, joy, and confidence. ✨

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, and I’ve learned that challenges are an inevitable part of building something meaningful. Like many entrepreneurs, one of the biggest hurdles has been balancing vision with reality—learning how to grow a brand thoughtfully while navigating limited resources, time constraints, and the unpredictability that comes with running a small business.

Building Eniya Accessories required me to wear many hats at once—from creative director to marketer, operations manager, and customer service lead. There were moments when I questioned whether I was doing enough or moving fast enough, especially in a digital space that’s constantly evolving and highly competitive. Learning how to stay consistent, visible, and patient while trusting the process has been a challenge in itself.

On a personal level, I’ve also had to navigate professional transitions, including stepping away from environments that no longer aligned with my values. Experiencing setbacks and moments of uncertainty pushed me to reassess my direction and lean into entrepreneurship with more intention and resilience. Those periods were difficult, but they ultimately strengthened my confidence and clarified my purpose.

Another ongoing challenge has been honoring the heart of the brand—its cultural roots, storytelling, and emotional meaning—while also ensuring it remains sustainable and scalable. Staying true to why I started, while adapting to growth and change, has required constant reflection and flexibility.

Looking back, I see those challenges not as obstacles that slowed me down, but as lessons that shaped me. They taught me perseverance, adaptability, and the importance of staying grounded in your “why,” even when the path forward isn’t clear.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Eniya Accessories ?
Eniya Accessories is a women-owned jewelry brand rooted in storytelling, elegance, and confidence. We specialize in thoughtfully curated accessories that are designed to feel timeless yet modern pieces that elevate everyday style while still feeling personal and meaningful.

What sets Eniya Accessories apart is that the brand is deeply inspired by heritage and legacy. The foundation of the business comes from memories of my grandmothers—women who embodied grace, strength, and confidence and expressed that through the jewelry they wore. That influence is woven into everything we do, from the names of our collections to the intentional way each piece is selected. Our jewelry isn’t just about trends; it’s about how a piece makes you feel when you put it on.

We’re known for offering versatile, elegant designs that transition effortlessly from day to night—whether it’s a statement necklace, a delicate bracelet, or a bold yet refined jewelry set. Our collections are curated to complement a wide range of personal styles, making them accessible while still feeling elevated and special.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the emotional connection customers form with Eniya Accessories. Hearing from women who say our jewelry makes them feel confident, polished, or empowered is incredibly rewarding. I’m also proud that the brand honors family, culture, and memory in a way that feels authentic and celebratory rather than performative.

What I want readers to know is that Eniya Accessories is about more than adornment—it’s about wearing your story. Every piece is an invitation to step into your confidence, embrace your individuality, and carry a sense of elegance with you wherever you go. As the brand continues to grow, my goal is to keep Eniya Accessories grounded in purpose, beauty, and intention while building a community that values style with meaning.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I see the jewelry and accessories industry evolving in exciting and meaningful ways. It’s a space that’s increasingly shaped by technology, consumer values, and cultural trends, and I think those forces will continue to redefine how brands connect with people.

One major shift is in how customers shop and interact with jewelry online. E-commerce is already a major driver in the industry and is projected to continue growing, with digital sales expected to account for an even larger portion of the market. Tools like virtual try-ons, augmented reality, and personalized online experiences are becoming more common, helping customers feel confident and connected even without setting foot in a store. This digital engagement will only deepen, with social commerce on platforms like Instagram and TikTok continuing to shape discovery and purchase decisions.

Sustainability and ethical practices are also no longer niche—they’re central. Consumers increasingly want transparency about where materials come from and how products are made. Brands that prioritize responsible sourcing, recycled metals, and eco-friendly processes will stand out and resonate with conscious buyers.

At the same time, personalization and self-expression are becoming more important, especially with younger shoppers. People want jewelry that reflects their story, values, and unique style—whether that’s through customized pieces, limited editions, or meaningful collections.

Technology will continue to play a role not only in shopping experiences but also in design and production. AI, 3D modeling, and digital tools are already making bespoke and customizable pieces more accessible, and I expect those innovations to spread even further.

Overall, I believe the industry is moving toward a future that blends digital innovation, sustainability, and personal storytelling. For brands that embrace those trends thoughtfully, there’s a huge opportunity to build deeper connections with customers and create jewelry that people don’t just wear—but feel.
