Inspiring Conversations with Kiera Breland-Dowdle of Cache Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kiera Breland-Dowdle.

Hi Kiera, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a deep love for bold, colorful, and unique accessories. Some of my earliest memories are of visiting the flea market with my mom—there was a jewelry booth I loved, and I’d spend my entire allowance there picking out the most interesting earrings I could find. That experience sparked something in me at a young age.

Years later, while daydreaming about those memories, I realized I wanted to recreate that same feeling—not just for myself, but for other women searching for expressive, creative accessories that made them feel seen and stylish. That’s when the idea for Cache Collection was born.

In 2018, I started small with a booth at my local flea market. It became a space where I connected with women who were looking for something different—something fun, bold, and personal. From those humble beginnings, Cache Collection has grown into a brand that now ships worldwide. It’s been such a joy to see how far it’s come and how many women it’s been able to reach.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all—it’s definitely been a journey filled with trial and error. When I first started, I didn’t know the first thing about running a business. I made a lot of mistakes early on, including spending way too much money hiring people to help me with things I didn’t fully understand yet.

Eventually, I realized I needed to slow down and really learn the fundamentals. I started reading every business book I could find and spent countless hours watching YouTube videos on everything from marketing to photography. One book that had a major impact on me was #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. It really pushed me to stop trying to follow the crowd and instead lean into my own creativity—especially when it came to marketing. That shift in mindset helped me start building a brand that actually felt like me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Cache Collection is a jewelry boutique that specializes in bold, affordable accessories designed for modern women who want to express themselves through style. Our brand is built on three core values: comfort, style, and affordability. We believe that accessories are one of the most personal parts of a wardrobe—unlike clothing, they’re all about individual flair. That’s why we focus on creating pieces that help women stand out and feel confident in their unique style.

What sets us apart is our dedication to our community. Cache Collection isn’t just about selling jewelry—it’s about connecting. We listen to our customers, engage with them, and create pieces inspired by their feedback and needs. Whether someone is looking for a statement piece for a special occasion or an everyday go-to that sparks joy, we want them to feel seen here.

What I’m most proud of is the product itself. I stand firmly behind the quality and the pricing—we work hard to make sure every piece feels special without breaking the bank. I also want readers to know that Cache Collection is more than a boutique. It’s a place where you can find not just unique jewelry, but also styling advice, inspiration, and a genuine connection. We’re building a community of women who celebrate creativity, individuality, and self-expression—and there’s room for everyone here.

How do you think about happiness?
What brings me the most joy is traveling, spending time with my family, and—of course—shopping. Traveling, in particular, has had a huge influence on my life and my creative process. Over the past seven years, I’ve had the opportunity to visit around 24 countries, and each place has left a lasting impression on me. The colors, landscapes, cultures, and emotions I experienced abroad have deeply inspired many of my jewelry collections.

I see jewelry as a form of storytelling, and it’s incredibly meaningful to me to capture the essence of a place or a feeling in a piece that someone can wear and connect with. That creative process—turning memories and inspiration into something tangible—is what truly lights me up. Being able to share that with others through Cache Collection makes it even more rewarding.
