Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine.
Hi Katherine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I founded this agency with a simple goal: to create a space in Charleston that celebrates real beauty, local talent, and the creative spirit of our community. As someone with a background in art, photography, and design, I wanted to build something that felt different. A boutique modeling agency rooted in authenticity, Southern charm, and purpose.
Charleston is growing rapidly, full of thriving businesses and fresh energy. I believe this is the perfect place to offer something new. An agency that works closely with local brands, connects models with opportunities that reflect our city, and empowers individuals to embrace who they are. While I hope to create opportunities for models to grow beyond this market if they choose, my core mission is focused on elevating talent right here at home.
This vision comes from my own journey. I started modeling when I was around 14, drawn in by curiosity and the fun of it all. Once I began, I was hooked. I loved the transformation, the hair, the makeup, the beautiful clothes, and the creative energy on set. Even if it was just for a short time, I felt like I was stepping into something magical every time.
For years, I kept my modeling experience quiet. It felt personal, something I wanted to keep to myself and those closest to me until I grew confident enough to fully own it. Over the years, I worked with agencies in New Hampshire, Boston, and Rhode Island, and had the chance to be part of amazing projects including campaigns with Matrix and Living Proof, a shoot with Udo Spreitzenbarth, the renowned fashion photographer featured on America’s Next Top Model, and walking in New York Fashion Week. One of my favorite experiences was modeling for Sandhya Garg, a designer I admire who was featured on Project Runway and now creates stunning pieces in LA.
Through it all, modeling helped me grow tremendously. It built my confidence, helped me embrace my individuality, and gave me a sense of pride in who I am. That’s what I want others to feel too. Today, the modeling industry has changed in the best way. You no longer have to be 5’9” and a size 0 to be considered a model. Especially in Charleston, where local businesses are looking for models who reflect real people and real stories. There is beauty in what is raw, honest, and human.
That’s the heart of this agency. We are here to support local talent, create art, and build something meaningful in a city that inspires us every day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like with any new venture, the road has had its challenges. The agency is still in its early, up-and-coming stage. We officially launched at the end of February. Right now, we’re focused on establishing ourselves within the Charleston community and building strong relationships with local businesses. A big part of this phase has been scouting local talent and creating the right opportunities that align with our vision.
One of the biggest challenges so far has been getting the word out and building brand awareness from the ground up. It takes time to earn trust, especially in a creative industry where personal connections matter. But we’re committed to growing organically, staying true to our values, and creating something that truly reflects the spirit of Charleston. It’s a process, but an exciting one. Every step forward, no matter how small, feels meaningful because it’s part of something bigger.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I’m someone who finds joy in the little pleasures of life. One of the things I love most is exploring the beautiful city of Charleston. There’s something so special about discovering new coffee shops and supporting local businesses. I’ve visited countless spots, each with its own charm, and it always brings me a sense of connection to the community.
Traveling is another passion of mine. Over the years, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to visit many countries in Europe, especially in recent years when my husband was stationed overseas. During one of our trips, he gifted me a camera, and that’s when I realized how much I loved photography. I began documenting our travels, focusing on the stunning architecture and quiet moments that often go unnoticed. I set a challenge for myself to capture a building with no one in sight — timing it just right to get the perfect shot. The challenge of capturing these moments fueled something inside me. The sense of accomplishment and the beauty I was able to capture in those still, peaceful moments truly inspired me.
