Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Kaminski
Hi Julie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Thank you for the opportunity to share my story! I’m Julie Kaminski, a nationally recognized health coach, counselor, and personal trainer with over 30 years of experience helping people thrive. My journey has been about blending fitness expertise, counseling insight, and coaching strategies to guide individuals—particularly women—toward achieving health and wellness goals tailored to their unique life stages.
As one of the first board-certified health coaches in the world, I developed the SAVOR Method—a framework that focuses on Sustenance, Activity, Vitality, Organization, and Refuelment—to help people uncover their unique recipe for health and happiness.
Over time, my passion for community and connection led me to create The Walking Book Club®, a program that combines movement, literature, and social connection to inspire wellness. It started as a small idea and grew into a community initiative that I’m incredibly proud of. Through this platform, we’ve not only encouraged physical activity but also fostered meaningful connections and conversations around books and life.
I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in publications like the New York Post, MyFitnessPal, Women’s World, and Eat This, Not That. Along the way, I’ve led wellness initiatives, hosted workshops, and authored The Flourishing Home, a guide to creating a thriving environment for health and happiness.
Whether I’m guiding others toward balance or finding my own through morning coffee and crosswords, midday exercise, or laughter-filled dinners with my family, I’m passionate about helping people live with clarity and confidence. Every step of my journey has been about empowering others to thrive—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the challenges I’ve faced in my career is navigating the balance between protecting the integrity of my work and fostering collaboration. When you’ve built something with passion and purpose, it’s natural to want to ensure it remains aligned with your vision. At the same time, it’s essential to stay open to feedback, partnerships, and the perspectives of others.
I’ve learned that challenges like these can often be turned into opportunities for growth. By staying grounded in my mission and focusing on my passion for helping women thrive, I’ve been able to navigate obstacles while remaining true to my values and vision. Ultimately, these experiences have strengthened my resolve and improved my ability to foster positive and productive relationships.
We’ve been impressed with Julie Kaminski, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a health coach, counselor, and personal trainer with over 30 years of experience. I specialize in helping women achieve health and wellness goals that align with their unique life stages. I focus on guiding individuals toward clarity, confidence, and thriving in mind and body.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach to wellness. I blend counseling, fitness expertise, and coaching strategies to address not just physical health but also the emotional and mental aspects of well-being. I developed the SAVOR Method, a framework that helps people discover their unique recipe for health and happiness by focusing on Sustenance, Activity, Vitality, Organization, and Refuelment. This method has transformed how my clients approach their goals and make meaningful, lasting changes.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of The Walking Book Club®. What started as a small idea—a way to combine movement, literature, and connection—has grown into a thriving community initiative. It’s more than just walking or reading; it’s about creating spaces where people can connect, feel inspired, and take steps toward wellness together.
My offerings are designed to empower individuals to thrive, whether through personalized health coaching or workshops. My services go beyond quick fixes; they help individuals create a blueprint for long-term well-being. For example, I lead workshops, like the recent one on thriving in mind and body, exploring areas like physical activity, nutrition, stress management, and setting meaningful goals.
At the heart of everything I do is creating spaces— one-on-one or in communities—where people feel supported and inspired to live their best lives. My passion is to help others achieve clarity and confidence and thrive on their own terms.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Empathy and curiosity have been the qualities most important to my success. Empathy allows me to connect deeply with the individuals and groups I work with, creating a safe space where people feel seen, heard, and valued. It’s not just about listening; it’s about understanding their unique challenges and goals and supporting them without judgment.
Curiosity, on the other hand, drives me to keep learning, asking questions, and exploring new ways to help others thrive. It’s what led me to develop the SAVOR Method, which combines evidence-based practices with real-world insights to create a framework that empowers individuals to uncover their personal recipe for health and happiness. Curiosity helps me adapt to each client’s or group’s unique needs, encouraging them to become curious about their own potential and discover what works best for them.
Together, empathy and curiosity fuel the connection and adaptability that are at the heart of everything I do. Whether I’m coaching women, leading small group training, or inspiring the community through initiatives like The Walking Book Club®, these qualities enable me to guide meaningful and lasting change. They ensure my work remains impactful and aligned with my mission to empower others to thrive with clarity, confidence, and joy.
