Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Moore
Hi Gina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a native to the Charleston area. Born in Charleston, raised in Summerville and called Edisto Beach home for a period of my life before returiing back to “town” Charleston from the island life. My passion for creativity started in my childhood where I would play in nature and my imagination was extremely active. This natural curiousity and playfulness led me to making my first “mud pies” to serve as dinner to family and friends. I didn’t jump straight into Pluff Mud Mercantile, as my life began in a career in real estate and development which immersed me even more into my love of the Lowcountry marshes, wildlife, and coastal living. I learned a lot from my real estate days, but the stress and pressure led me to my path to deeper meaning and spirituality. I told myself, there had to be a “better way”, something where I can share my gifts with the community in a more holistic way. I was ready for something less stressful and the opportunity to embrace the expansion of my creative side in a loving expression. My love for natural healing, aromatherapy, self care, and creating natural products that was previously a hobby to manage stress, became something that I leaned into even more. On the heals of a life changing period of my journey, my love of home and the smell of pluff mud manifested as Pluff Mud Mercantile. A healing balm for my soul as I began co-creating with God. It became more than a gift shop… a gathering space for classes, natural products, custom product creation for local businesses, and networking with farmers to source as many ingredients supporting the community in SC Grown.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Far from it! I believe one of the single most important things about being an entrepreneur and small business owner is the internal battle that we experience daily. The process of overcoming our self limiting beliefs each day by “breaking the habit of being ourself” as Dr. Joe Dispenza would say. In 2020 the whole landscape of the world, what we value, and how we do business changed. We notice that it is continuing to change requiring a fluidity that businesses have never experienced before. However, I believe it is far more than just changes in business, but changes in humanity and consciousness as a whole that is changing. We are in a pivotal place in time where “thinking outside the box” is not something that is suggested, but is required. We now need to go beyond this concept into a place where we are realizing there is “no box”. The earth needs our love and care, and we do need each other. Now more than ever we crave to connect but feel even more disconnected. By embracing what we truly want for ourselves and our planet we are able to evolve, serve the community, continue to provide workshops and make new products that are clean, and natural without all the harmful chemicals. By doing our part, we in turn shine a light for each of us to do our unique part. Our passion for concious business supports the community in ways to aid our customers to de-stress and live more fulfilling lives.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Since a lot of the previous encompasses the business, I will include more about the creative personal side. When inspiration strikes you flow with it…I created a local bloody mary mix called The Other Mary & Her Hotter Sister with sea island spices and real wasabi. It’s a fun non-alcoholic bloody mary mix that’s straight out of the bottle good! I also published a children’s book called “Fiona the Firefly Finds her Light” which inspires us all to shine our Light, express our unique gifts and builds self esteem and confidence through a little firefly. My main mission in life is to inspire others to have the best health, wealth and relationships in their lives. You will find this common thread is through all I do. One day I realized the symbolism of the Light in my creations from the candles, to the book published under Moore Light Publishing, and now the coaching and mentorship that I offer to anyone desiring to live their life purpose, embrace their dreams and live the life they have imagined through Moore Light Intuitive. All of the things I have learned and experienced in my life are unfolding into a beautiful lotus flower where the golden thread through all of the tirals and tribulations is showing the beautiful tapestry that began in the pluff mud and is now unfolding into the lotus flower. After all, without the mud, there is no flower!
What are your plans for the future?
We will continue to evolve the offerings of classes, workshops, writing and inspiring to live the most fulfilling lives full of good health, wealth and healthy relationships. In addition I will be continuing in creating new product formulations, and I will be including more opportunities for mentorship, interactive experiences, teaching how to embrace natural products, and eco friendly practices in little ways in our everyday lives.
