Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Bargeron.
Hi Emily , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Emily Bargeron is a creative visionary from the small town of Louisville, Georgia. She grew up being quite close with her family, particularly her fashionable grandmother, Mamie Ruth. Mamie would come to be the core inspiration for the many phases of Emily’s self-made career. Bonding over a love for personal style and flair, Mamie planted a seed in Emily’s mind as to the importance of pursuing personal style.
After getting a degree in fashion design from Georgia Southern University, she went on to spearhead a hand-made clothing line, inspired by her love for music festivals and decades past. Still, the concept of expressing yourself through your personal style was core to her brand. Emily dug deeper into the ways she could allow her customers to personalize their pieces and make things uniquely their own.
It was on this journey of self expression through custom design that Mess Hall was born. The concept: an accessory that says a lot about who you are without having to having to say anything at all, a personality piece if you will. It started with a curation of patches and pins that allowed people to express themselves through decorating hats. It’s turned into a fun-tastic phenomenon, where people are eager to come into the store and share in a creative experience with a friend or loved one. Emily has created an immersive environment that excites and engages the customers, and inspires them to create something one of a kind for their wardrobe.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A big challenge for us as a team at Mess Hall has been keeping up with the demand. The business has been so well received in both Savannah, GA, where our flagship is located, and Charleston, SC that we’ve had to step up as a team to keep up production. We are now designing almost all of our products in-house, and making sure there is always something fun and fresh for our customers.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
