Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Armold.
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story starts with a deep belief that healing isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about truly seeing the person in front of you. My story has always been rooted in service—long before I ever adjusted a spine, I believed in building healthier communities from the inside out. After college, I served in AmeriCorps, where I focused on initiatives that supported health, education, and safety in underserved communities. That time shaped so much of my worldview. I saw firsthand how systems either support or fail families, and it deepened my belief that lasting wellness begins at the community level.
After AmeriCorps, I continued that path in social services, working in New York State’s foster and adoptive care system. I walked alongside children and families during some of their most difficult transitions, advocating for safety, stability, and healing. That work was challenging, but it taught me about resilience—the kind that comes from people showing up for each other, again and again. It also taught me that true healing is never just physical. It’s emotional, relational, and often deeply personal.
Eventually, I found chiropractic care, and something in me clicked. I saw in it not only a clinical practice, but a way to continue that same mission of helping people feel safe, supported, and empowered in their bodies and in their lives. I returned to school, earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and began building what would become Hub City Spinal Care here in Spartanburg.I opened Hub City Spinal Care in Spartanburg with that vision in mind, committed to delivering chiropractic care that honors the whole patient: physically, emotionally, and even spiritually.
I first became interested in chiropractic care because of its natural, hands-on approach to restoring function and balance in the body. After earning my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, I continued to grow in both clinical skill and heart-centered practice. Over the years, my path has been shaped not just by what I’ve studied, but by the patients and families who’ve walked through my doors. They’ve taught me that compassionate care matters just as much as clinical expertise.
Building this practice has taken grit and grace. I’ve navigated personal loss, motherhood, and the ups and downs of small business ownership—all while remaining committed to my purpose. Today, Hub City Spinal Care serves patients of all ages, from newborns to elders, with a focus on family wellness, functional healing, and evidence-informed care. We’ve grown into more than a clinic—we’re a place where people feel safe to heal.
Being part of the Spartanburg community means everything to me. It’s where I’m raising my children, building relationships, and helping others return to the life they love. Every adjustment, every smile, every moment of relief a patient feels—that’s what keeps me going.
I needed a hero, so I became one—and now, through every adjustment, every listening ear, and every act of care, I’m building the kind of world I wish I’d been born into—one where healing is possible, community is strong, and no one has to do it alone.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth. I’ve overcome more than most people will ever know just to get to this point—not only to build a successful practice, but to wake up every day and keep showing up for life.
There have been seasons marked by uncertainty, heartbreak, and loss. Becoming a widow and a single mother while running a healthcare practice tested me in every way imaginable. There were days I wasn’t sure how I’d make it to the next one, let alone hold space for others in their healing. But I did. And I still do.
The truth is, I’ve had to fight for every bit of stability and peace I have now. I’ve rebuilt from the ground up—emotionally, financially, professionally—more than once. That journey taught me to live with both grit and tenderness. It shaped how I mother my children, how I care for my patients, and how I choose to keep believing in something better, even when the road gets hard.
This isn’t just about running a practice. It’s about rising every day with purpose. It’s about choosing hope when it would be easier to shut down. It’s about creating safety and healing for others, even while learning to hold that space for myself.
No, the road hasn’t been smooth—but it’s made me who I am. And it’s given me the kind of strength that can’t be shaken.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
At Hub City Spinal Care, we do far more than adjust spines—we restore hope. As a chiropractor with advanced training in clinical nutrition and deep experience in complex case management, I’ve built a practice that bridges the gap between what patients have been told… and what’s actually going on in their bodies.
We specialize in family wellness, particularly pregnancy and pediatric care, which is at the heart of what we do. From helping expectant mothers prepare their bodies for birth to caring for newborns with feeding or alignment issues, we see the body as a whole, dynamic system—one that deserves gentle, informed, and individualized care. We also co-manage patients with other providers, often identifying underlying issues that may have been overlooked. I’m trained to diagnose medical conditions and refer when appropriate, and it’s not uncommon for patients to say, “You’re the first person who really looked at the full picture.”
What sets us apart is our ability to treat not just musculoskeletal issues, but the person as a whole. My Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition allows me to bring an integrative lens to chiropractic care. I take the time to understand root causes—whether they stem from trauma, inflammation, stress, or movement patterns—and then we build a plan together.
We also offer a range of therapeutic services in-office, including cold laser, ultrasound, shockwave therapy, cranial work, and postural retraining. I developed my own specialized protocols for frozen shoulder and chronic ankle/foot dysfunction after seeing too many patients struggle with recurring issues that standard approaches weren’t solving. I couldn’t ignore what wasn’t working, so I created something better—and I now train other professionals in those protocols.
I’m also proud to be an Anti-Human Trafficking Educator, training healthcare providers to recognize red flags and intervene safely. Healthcare is one of the few systems where victims may cross paths with someone who can help, and we have a responsibility to be prepared.
Beyond all of that, my patients know I care—truly. I’ve handed out copies of my grief companion book in quiet moments when patients share losses they didn’t know how to name. I’ve cried with them, laughed with them, and celebrated small wins as if they were my own. Healing doesn’t happen in a rush, and I’ve built a practice where people can breathe, be heard, and begin again.
What I want readers to know is this: Hub City Spinal Care is more than a clinic. It’s a refuge. It’s where science meets heart, and where patients finally feel seen. We’re not in the business of band-aids. We’re here to walk with you through the hard stuff, help you feel better, and—more importantly—help you live better.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by the quiet moments: when a patient walks in exhausted and walks out hopeful, when a mother breathes easier because her baby finally sleeps, or when someone who’s been dismissed by other providers finally feels heard. Success is when healing becomes possible—physically, emotionally, or even spiritually—and I’ve had the privilege of being part of that moment.
Success isn’t about numbers, titles, or how many people follow your work—it’s about impact. It’s about knowing that because of your presence, someone felt less alone, less afraid, or more seen than they did before.
It’s also deeply personal. Success is raising my boys with love and steadiness, even through grief. It’s continuing to grow a business while rebuilding my life. It’s writing a book for the broken-hearted because I’ve lived in that space myself. It’s waking up each day and choosing to keep going, keep serving, and keep believing in a better world.
So no, success isn’t flashy for me. It’s sacred. It’s measured in trust, transformation, and the courage to keep showing up.
