Inspiring Conversations with Brianna Weathersby Smith of Sunkissed Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Weathersby Smith.

Hi Brianna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Sunkissed Esthetics was born from a desire to create more than just a beauty service — I wanted to create a space where people feel seen, confident, and cared for.
My journey into esthetics started with a deep love for self-care and the way it transforms not only the body, but the spirit. As a woman of color and a mother, I understood firsthand how rare it can be to find spaces that feel both professional and genuinely welcoming. I knew I wanted to build something different — a business rooted in comfort, trust, and empowerment.
I started Sunkissed Esthetics with the goal of helping clients feel confident in their skin, whether it’s their first wax or their hundredth. What began as a passion quickly turned into a purpose. Every service I offer is intentional, focused on results, education, and creating a judgment-free environment where clients can relax and show up as themselves.
Building my business in North Myrtle Beach has been both challenging and rewarding. There were moments that required faith, resilience, and a lot of hard work behind the scenes. But those moments shaped the brand I’m so proud of today — one that balances luxury with approachability and expertise with warmth.
Sunkissed Esthetics represents my belief that self-care isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. It’s about choosing yourself, setting boundaries, and investing in your confidence. Watching my clients walk out feeling empowered, glowing, and unapologetically themselves is what fuels me every day.
This business is a reflection of the life I’m intentionally building — one rooted in passion, purpose, and the freedom to create a soft, fulfilling life while doing what I love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been building a business while balancing motherhood and real life responsibilities. There were moments when I had to show up for my clients while still pouring into my family, often behind the scenes sacrificing rest and personal time to make it all work.
Another challenge was stepping into entrepreneurship without a blueprint. Starting Sunkissed Esthetics required me to trust myself, invest in my education, and take risks even when the outcome wasn’t guaranteed. As a woman of color in the beauty industry, I also felt the pressure to work twice as hard to be taken seriously and to create a space where clients of all backgrounds felt comfortable and represented.
Growth itself has been a challenge. Learning how to set boundaries, charge my worth, and protect my energy was uncomfortable at first, but necessary. I had to shift from simply being passionate about esthetics to becoming confident as a business owner and leader.
Each challenge strengthened my vision. They taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of staying aligned with my purpose. Those experiences shaped Sunkissed Esthetics into a brand that values intention, balance, and authenticity — not just success.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sunkissed Esthetics is a professional esthetics studio located in North Myrtle Beach, specializing in expert waxing services and results-driven skincare treatments. With over 8 years of experience as an esthetician, I’m known especially for my Brazilian waxing services and for creating a comfortable, judgment-free experience for every client.
What sets Sunkissed Esthetics apart is the intention behind each appointment. I focus heavily on education, consistency, and trust, ensuring clients understand their skin and feel confident in their care. As a woman of color–owned business, inclusivity and representation are central to my brand, and I’ve created a space where all skin types and backgrounds feel welcome.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the loyalty and trust I’ve built with my clients. Sunkissed Esthetics is more than a beauty studio — it’s a space rooted in confidence, care, and choosing yourself.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Books: I’m drawn to books that center on growth, mindset, and self-awareness. My favorites are Atomic Habits. You are a badass and the four agreements. I rely on apps that keep me organized as a business owner. Instagram is a major tool for connecting with clients. And Canva helps me bring my brand vision to life.
