Inspiring Conversations with Ben & Brittany Scott of Beyond Blueprint

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben & Brittany Scott.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Our experiences from the past ten years have perfectly prepared us for this moment of establishing Beyond Blueprint. Ben has over seven years of experience working on the tech side of a corporate IT company, where I also worked in the business department for three years. Although Ben is a technologically savvy guy, he also enjoys working with his hands. When we weren’t working, we renovated our fixer-upper home and found a passion for creating beauty out of outdated homes. I left corporate and set out on my first entrepreneurial journey opening a bridal boutique. During these years, I learned valuable lessons in starting a company from the ground up and experienced what it meant to run a successful business. Three years after opening my business, life shifted for us – we had our first daughter and craved something different. Soon after we sold nearly everything we owned, we bought a truck and RV and hit the road. During the next two years, we explored flipping houses in different parts of the country, and then when we weren’t, we’d travel. Our travels led us to plant our roots in Clemson, South Carolina, where we continued to flip houses and complete home renovations for clients. This was when everything started to align. We had multiple clients doing large layout changes to their homes, and although we could easily envision the result, they couldn’t. We repeatedly heard, “I just wish I could see it before it was done.” This was elevated when we built our own barn dominium-style home and could fully appreciate wanting to see selections altogether. There wasn’t an affordable solution to walk through a new home build or large renovation before it was complete, so we put our hammers and tape measures away and merged our last ten years of experience to create Beyond Blueprint.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When we decided to go all in and dedicate 100% of our time to Beyond Blueprint, we knew we were starting down a bumpy road. Here we are opening a brand new company that we not only need to market who we are, but we are also introducing a new technology that people don’t know exists, so we’re finding ourselves marketing a brand new service at the same time. This has posed its challenges but has been encouraged by how well builders have responded to our solution.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Beyond Blueprint, we take an existing blueprint or sketch and bring it to life by creating an interactive 3-dimensional digital model that can be toured with virtual reality. Our service is an unbelievable opportunity to see your project and be fully immersed in it. The ability to make adjustments in real-time brings our service to the next level. Do you want to see different flooring colors? Is upgrading to nine-foot ceilings worth the investment? Any possibilities you can think of, whether it be structurally or design, we can help you see and experience in its entirety in real-time. So whether you’re building a house, adding on an addition, changing an existing floorplan during a large renovation, creating a new restaurant layout, and so much more – the power of what we have to offer is unlike anything available until now, making Beyond Blueprint the perfect way to guarantee satisfaction before your builder even breaks ground.
