Hi Bayly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business in Atlanta, GA when I was pregnant with my first child, 13 years ago. I had been working as a nanny and formed some amazing connections with the families I worked with. Becoming a parent myself, I wanted to help other families and nannies make the same connection. In 2014, I moved my family to my hometown of Mt Pleasant and started servicing the greater Charleston area as well. I now have a wonderful team of four women who help run the day to day operations of my business and we service Atlanta, Charleston and Charlotte. We now do more than just nanny placements and also can help match families with a household manager/family assistant, newborn care specialist/night nurse, babysitter or special event/hotel babysitter.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think there are always challenges you will face with any business. To me the most important thing is to always learn from the hard moments and use them as an opportunity to improve and move forward. Sometimes that means changing your process or the way information is communicated but always look at struggles or issues that occur with the approach of “what can I learn from this.” Being open to change and others ideas has brought me a lot of success. I don’t have all of the answers and I rely on learning from others to always grow as an entrepreneur.
