What began as a dream to bring affordable urban fashion to Loris, South Carolina, has blossomed into Drip Bag & Clothing Boutique, a testament to perseverance and community vision. In early 2020, armed with determination and a clear understanding of our community’s needs, I started this journey in the most humble way possible – selling clothes from my car, connecting with customers one conversation at a time.
The concept was simple yet powerful: bring quality, trendy fashion to our community without the luxury price tag. Despite launching during the uncertainties of the pandemic, we opened our brick-and-mortar location in May 2020, establishing our home at 4116 Main Street in historic downtown Loris.
What sets Drip Bag & Clothing apart is our commitment to inclusive fashion. We proudly serve everyone – men and women of all ages, including our vibrant plus-size community. From casual streetwear to elegant evening attire, each piece is carefully sourced from quality suppliers in Atlanta, New York, and Columbia.
The name “Drip” represents more than just fashion – it symbolizes confidence, style, and self-expression. We’re not just selling clothes; we’re providing our customers with the means to express themselves and feel confident in their own skin. Our boutique has become a place where style meets accessibility, where luxury becomes attainable, and where every customer’s fashion journey is celebrated.
As we’ve grown, we’ve expanded our services to include custom clothing options, recognizing that personal style sometimes requires a personal touch. Our team now includes talented professionals – from photographers capturing our latest collections to models who bring our fashion vision to life.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about our role in Loris’s economic development. With the city’s new Downtown Development Master Plan, we’re perfectly positioned to be part of this community’s growth story. We’re also expanding into government contracting, developing uniform solutions for DOT workers and schools, while maintaining our commitment to urban fashion.
The journey hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has shaped our vision. Each milestone has been a stepping stone toward our greater goal: becoming a cornerstone of fashion and community empowerment in Horry County. Our success isn’t measured just in sales figures, but in the confidence we see in our customers when they find that perfect piece, in the relationships we’ve built with our community, and in the opportunities we’re creating for local talent.
As we transition to an LLC structure and develop mentorship programs, our vision extends beyond fashion – we’re building a platform for community growth, personal expression, and economic opportunity. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sure, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Being new in the fashion game has its challenges, but every obstacle has just made us more determined. Some of the struggles were just keeping up with the changing fashions and the demands of the customer and just staying in business when I started during covid.
