Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Kolman
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was an instructor in my early 20’s but then life changed for me and I didn’t get back to fitness faithfully until my 40’s after a disc injury debilitated me for a few years. After finding an Atlas orthogonal chiropractor, I started taking Zumba classes at a church fitness ministry and eventually I got recertified as an instructor and was leading classes there and a few local gyms. After Covid, that ministry never went back to what it was and I decided it was time for me to move on to my own thing. That is when I opened Vibe Fitness in 2020. I’m just starting my fifth year in business and I’m planning on doing this as long as I possibly can.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of my business has definitely not been smooth. I opened before the second wave of Covid hit so that was unfortunate timing. Advertising has been hit or miss for me the past few years but I just keep going and give my clients the best care and service I can. My space has served me well for a boutique studio but I’m always finding great, new equipment I want to incorporate, so I really had to get creative with my layout to make it all fit.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My mission is to empower individuals to build and maintain muscle, recognizing its vital role in enhancing overall health, longevity, and quality of life. By advocating for regular strength training and proper nutrition, I aim to help people understand the profound benefits of muscle health, including improved metabolism, reduced risk of chronic diseases, better mobility, and increased strength and endurance. Through education, personalized fitness plans, and ongoing support, I strive to inspire and guide those to embrace physical activity as a cornerstone of their well-being, ensuring they remain active, independent, and vibrant throughout their life. My goal is to create a community where everyone can thrive, celebrating the strength and resilience that comes with building and maintaining muscle.
I specialize in putting together a diverse program of exercises delivered in group fitness classes and personal training.
By always researching and developing new programs, I’m able to continually challenge the entire body and to remove weak links and muscle imbalances.
I’m known for being a small boutique community where everyone becomes friends. We find ourselves laughing and getting as much mental relief through the friendships as we do from the physical workouts
What sets me apart from others is that my group fitness classes cover a broad spectrum of exercises including functional fitness, muscle building, cardio, mobility, and flexibility.
I am most proud brand-wise of its focus on a whole-body approach to fitness in a fun community environment with a positive Vibe!
Working out doesn’t have to be miserable and boring. Our small community is very welcoming and it’s a place where you can discover the power of being active while having fun, and make new friends!.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be consistent! This is a journey, not a quick fix and it requires patience. It is a form of meditation and an hour out of your day to focus inward which is beneficial in so many ways in helping you become a better, happier, and healthier person.
