Hi Amy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After over 20 years in the medical field, the founder of Blessed Blooms took a leap of faith to pursue a lifelong dream of running a flower shop. Blessed Blooms is the fruition of that dream, blending passion with purpose to serve the Boiling Springs and the communities in the Upstate of South Carolina.
My passion for floral design started when my mom would sign us up for adult enrichment classes through her employer (Jeep/Chrysler via the UAW). Then, when I entered high school, there were specific floral design classes at a different location that I enjoyed.
My aunt owned a flower shop in a small town in Petersburg, MI, where I enjoyed working whenever we visited.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a small business is not for the weak, there have been many struggles along the way, all of them have been worth it. I have questioned my decision to open Blessed Blooms several times since the grand opening, I was naive to how hard it is to get the business name out into the community.
A current struggle is determining if Blessed Blooms would have better visibility in a retail space in Boiling Springs, SC. Originally when I established Blessed Blooms, I made the decision to run the business from a dedicated space in our basement. Over the last year several people have wanted to stop in and look at the items Blessed Blooms offers, which has lead me to reconsider the location.
A ongoing struggle is technology, determining the right ‘recipe’ for the internet algorithms to pick up Blessed Blooms is by far the second largest struggle.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Blessed Blooms Flower Shop & Gifts?
Blessed Blooms creates gifts that speak to the heart! As a faith-based, women-owned small business, I pour my heart into every item created. Blessed Blooms specializes in custom arrangements (both fresh and artificial) for its customers. When I opened Blessed Blooms, I had a million ideas that I wanted to offer. Knowing that the list needed to be narrowed down, I launched with three items and then added a fourth in year two. I am so proud of these first four items.
#1 – ‘Just because’ arrangement – a fresh flower arrangement nested in a small mason jar adorned with ribbon and a decorative item. This is an excellent gift for yourself or a loved one that is under $35.00 (pre-tax)
#2 – ‘Brighten the day’ arrangement – a fresh flower arrangement nested in a regular mason jar adorned with ribbon and a decorative item. This is an excellent gift for yourself or a loved one that is under $50.00 (pre-tax)
# 3—Interchange soap dispenser—The set includes 12 decorative wraps (one for each month) and a small mason jar. It is an excellent gift for yourself or a loved one for under $40.00 (pre-tax). The soap dispenser top is offered in a gel soap dispenser (black or silver) or a Foam Soap dispenser top.

What sets Blessed Blooms apart from other flower shops is that we are a faith-based business, with God at the center of everything we do. I pray over every item before it is delivered or mailed to our customers. I believe that God has amazing plans for Blessed Blooms to support the community. Every customer matters to me; getting to know your favorite colors and flowers, including those you’re not excited about, is important. My goal is for each creation to speak to your heart!
Blessed Blooms is not your typical flower shop and gift store; so much thought goes into every item offered inside the shop. We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I would have to save when we moved to Beijing, China, halfway through my Junior year of high school. Moving across the world to a third-world country taught me many valuable lessons. To name a few, do not take things for granted, such as ‘Reese” peanut butter cups. When you are a teenager in a large high school with a class size of 200+ one day, and then the next day you are in an Internal School with a class size of 14, it is a big adjustment.
It is was an amazing opportunity for me, my mom and, my step-father. The experience was truly life-changing; I have always said, “If I can move to China, I can do anything.”
