Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber MacIntosh.
Amber, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Amber and I am a real estate agent here in the beautiful Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area!
I was born and raised a Maryland girl. Graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in business administration and a concentration in management. Growing up I loved the idea of running and owning my own business along with having a soft spot for the South. After college life took some unexpected turns, and I wasn’t sure where or what to do next, I moved to the city of Baltimore and lived there for some time figuring out what I didn’t want to do for a career. Then life took an even bigger turn with the loss of my older brother.
After taking some time to figure things out and knowing all the things that I didn’t want to do, along with knowing that my brother would want me to be happy and to achieve my childhood dream of running and owning my business, I got the opportunity to move down south to the beautiful Myrtle Beach area. What I knew is that I wanted to run/own a business and I love houses. So I figured why not, let’s get into real estate where I can do both! Not knowing anything about real estate or the home buying and selling process, I decided to work as an admin for a top reproducing realtor in the Myrtle Beach area.
Working for them, I learned so much and I eventually went and received my license. After working for them for about 2 years, I decided it was time to go on my own as a real estate agent. In my first year, I had a lot of learning curves. I am now getting toward the end of my second year in Real Estate and I have had the chance to help 26 families buy their dream homes, buy investment properties, or even buy land and connected them with a builder to build their dream home. Along with helping families sell their homes, a lot of people don’t know the day-to-day behind the scene work realtors do for their clients to help them achieve their home goals.
My main goal as an agent is to provide my clients with the very best experience that takes the worry and the stress out of the process of selling or buying a home. This should be an exciting time for people. Buying and selling a home is a very personal experience. Everyone has a different reason for buying or selling a home and every transaction is different. I am still learning every day and love helping families.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road.
As I mentioned before everyone has a different reason for buying and selling a home and every transaction is different. Working with many different personalities, working with different vendors, along with figuring out this crazy market we are in right now, there have been some challenges.
Not to mention still being a rookie, but these challenges and obstacles have made me a better person and agent.
Every day I learn something new and every day is a new lesson.

What does success mean to you?
Everyone defines success differently, but to me, success is always doing my best in all aspects of my life and knowing that I have done the best I can, and feeling proud of my efforts. Knowing that I am getting my most desirable outcome. Along with knowing that it is ok to fail, because “failure” is also a learning lesson.
Right now in my career, I feel like I am growing success, along with reaching the goals I set for myself year after year. I am learning to have a good work/life balance and that I can say no in some parts of my business. Success is ever-changing, just like your goals and accomplishments.
