Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy Reid
Tracy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story started back in 2010 when a friend asked me to take photos of her daughter. I have always had a camera in my hand, but didn’t know how much I loved photographing people until this day. It started by word of mouth and then people followed me on social media and now I’ve been photographing seniors, weddings and families for over 15 years. I truly love what I do!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it is scary to run your own business and there are a lot of things people just don’t realized that are involved with it such as administrative/social media content work. I guess the biggest struggle is not knowing how much work you’re going to have. You have to trust the process and share, share, share your work so that others can see it. Another thing is you have to continually try and be creative and come up with new ideas. It’s super fun, but can be challenging if you’re not a motivated person.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Tracy Waldrop Photography?
My business began back in 2010 with seniors first and then led to weddings. I am self taught. I took one class at a local technical college. I have learned so much from wedding workshops, styled shoots and just shooting in general. I specialize in senior portraits and weddings mostly. My images are bright, light and airy with a pop of color and I have had a senior rep team for the last 3 years going on my 4th year.
I think what sets me apart from others is the color in my images and also the experience I have over these 15 years. I also have developed many friendships along the way by serving my clients well over the years.
I am most proud of where I’ve come in my senior photography. I now shoot several times a year at the local Biltmore Estate and Gardens and I travel to Charleston and shoot there often too.
I like for my readers to know that I am committed to giving you photos that are worth what you pay. I like to establish a friendship and bond that brings them back time and time again.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for somewhat starting out and who has a passion for photography is to watch every you tube channel, join every forum on social media and maybe attend a styled shoot to see if you like to shoot weddings. A workshop for photographers is a great way to learn too and chatting with other photographers really has helped in many areas of my career.
