Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Burch.
Hi Tierra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Helping others has always been a part of who I am. Growing up, my parents were foster parents, and I admired how the caseworkers worked tirelessly to bring families together. That early exposure planted a seed in me—I knew I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I started out in social work and enjoyed it, but deep down, I knew my purpose was bigger.
As I continued my journey, I couldn’t ignore the growing need for emotional support among our youth. So many young people were struggling silently, without a safe outlet to process their feelings. That realization led me to counseling—a space where I could truly meet people where they are and help them find healing.
Mental health continues to impact youth and families in powerful ways, and I’ve made it my mission to stand in that gap—to educate, empower, and provide a sense of hope. I have a natural ability to connect with individuals who are navigating difficult seasons, and I find joy in being that safe space while helping them develop tools to grow, heal, and live authentically.
Today, I’m the founder and owner of The Wellness Pot, a telehealth-based private practice serving clients across South Carolina. My work focuses on youth—who will always have my heart—and on women and mothers who are balancing the many layers of life. From depression and anxiety to parenting and everyday stress, I strive to help each person move toward wholeness, confidence, and peace.
At The Wellness Pot, my goal is simple: to create a space where healing grows and purpose blooms.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not—it’s been far from a smooth road. I made choices early on that shaped my path and, in many ways, made it more challenging to navigate. I became a mother in my teens, and raising a child with special needs added another layer of difficulty. But rather than slowing me down, it became my driving force. Motherhood gave me purpose before I even realized what that truly meant.
The judgment and stigma that came with being a young mother were heavy at times, but I used that energy as motivation to keep pushing forward. I worked jobs that fit my daughter’s schedule just so I could put myself through college. It wasn’t easy—there were many moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and self-doubt. I was trying to build a future while still figuring out who I was.
That season eventually led me to start my own counseling journey, which became a turning point. It was there that I found healing, clarity, and confirmation that this was the path I was meant to walk. Every obstacle prepared me for the purpose I now live out—helping others find strength in their own stories and bloom through what once tried to break them.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Wellness Pot was created as a safe space for growth, healing, and self-discovery. Our mission is simple yet powerful—to help individuals, especially youth and women, find balance and peace within themselves while learning to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and purpose.
We specialize in helping clients work through anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, and parenting challenges. I take pride in meeting clients where they are and helping them reconnect with who they are becoming. Sessions are offered virtually across South Carolina, making therapy both accessible and flexible for those with busy lives or limited local options.
What sets The Wellness Pot apart is our approach. We don’t just focus on symptoms—we focus on the person. Therapy here is collaborative, intentional, and rooted in authenticity. My goal is to empower clients to understand their emotions, break unhealthy cycles, and develop tools that support lifelong wellness.
I’m most proud that The Wellness Pot feels like a reflection of the very work we do—it’s warm, grounding, and full of growth. Every detail, from the name to the services offered, symbolizes planting seeds of healing and nurturing them until something beautiful blooms.
What I want readers to know is that The Wellness Pot isn’t just a counseling practice—it’s a movement toward holistic wellness. It’s a space for anyone ready to do the work, rediscover themselves, and start living a more intentional, authentic life.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is the family I’ve created. My two girls are my world, and they remind me daily of the importance of growth, love, and resilience. As our family continues to evolve, I see the potential within each of us to bloom in our own unique ways.
They are my “why”—the reason I show up with purpose every day. Living my life authentically not only allows me to pour into them, but it also empowers others to do the same. My hope is that through my example—both as a mother and a therapist—I inspire others to live fully, embrace their truth, and create lives rooted in authenticity and intention.
