Hidden Gems: Meet Suzanne Engel of Easy Breezy Accounting & Taxes, Suzanne Engel:Tax Strategist, Kickin’ Assets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Engel

Hi Suzanne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey started like a lot of entrepreneurs—by recognizing a major gap in the market and deciding to change the game.

I’ve always been great with numbers and problem-solving, so accounting was a natural fit. But as I worked with business owners, I kept seeing the same frustrating patterns—people making good money but not understanding how to manage or grow it, overpaying in taxes, and getting generic advice that wasn’t actually helping them build wealth.

And honestly? I got tired of the same old CPA routine—drop off your documents, pick up your tax return, and get zero real guidance in between. That system doesn’t help business owners maximize profits, plan for the future, or take advantage of real tax strategies.

That’s why I built my business differently. I focus on education, empowerment, and strategy—helping six- and seven-figure entrepreneurs not just stay compliant, but actually *win* financially. I customize reporting to show them the numbers that matter, design tax strategies that help them keep more of their money, and coach them to scale profitably.

Now, with my book *Your Tax Game Plan: Winning Strategies Your CPA Isn’t Telling You*, I’m bringing that same no-nonsense approach to business owners everywhere—giving them the straight talk they need to take control of their finances and grow their wealth.

It’s been a wild ride, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I also saw a huge need to empower women when it comes to investing—so I created *Kickin’ Assets*, an investment group designed specifically for women who want to take control of their financial future.

Let’s be real—too many women are left out of the conversation when it comes to building wealth, and I’m here to change that. Through *Kickin’ Assets*, I make financial literacy *fun*, *exciting*, and most importantly, *profitable*. I show women how to grow their money with real estate, stocks, CDs, high-yield savings accounts, and more—breaking it all down in a way that’s easy to understand and, dare I say, *actually enjoyable*.

This isn’t about boring spreadsheets or intimidating jargon. It’s about real strategies that help women build wealth, create security, and invest with confidence. Because when women have financial power, *everything* changes.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! Growing my own business came with plenty of challenges. Let’s be real—I’m really good at math (haha), but hiring, leadership, and documenting all my processes? That was a whole different bal game.

In the beginning, everything was in my head. I knew exactly how to handle client work, but I was driving myself crazy trying to juggle *everything*—answering the phone, digging through emails, scheduling appointments, and somehow still finding time to do the actual work. It was chaos.

I had to learn (the hard way) that just because I *could* do it all didn’t mean I *should*. I had to build systems, document my processes, and hire the right people so I wasn’t the bottleneck in my own business. It took time, and it definitely wasn’t easy, but once I put the right structure in place, everything changed.

Now, I get to focus on what I do best—helping business owners grow and keep more of their money—without drowning in the day-to-day tasks. But getting here? That was definitely a learning curve!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is all about helping entrepreneurs take control of their finances, scale profitably, and keep more of their hard-earned money. I specialize in tax strategy, business development, and profit coaching for six- and seven-figure business owners who are tired of feeling lost when it comes to accounting and taxes.

What sets me apart? I don’t just file tax returns and send you on your way—I create strategies that help business owners *win*. Too many CPAs stick to the “drop off your documents, pick up your return” routine, but that approach leaves so much money on the table. I take a proactive approach, helping my clients understand *why* their numbers matter and how to use them to grow.

I’m most proud of building a brand that’s no-BS, straight to the point, and truly empowering for business owners. My book, *Your Tax Game Plan: Winning Strategies Your CPA Isn’t Telling You*, is a reflection of that—giving people the knowledge they need to make smart financial moves without the jargon and fluff.

At the core, my business is about making tax strategy and financial growth *accessible*. I offer coaching, consulting, and done-for-you tax strategy so entrepreneurs can stop stressing over taxes and start using them to their advantage. If you’re making money but not sure if you’re making the *most* of it, that’s where I come in. You earned it and I’ll help you keep it!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Picking just one favorite childhood memory is tough because I had such different experiences with each of my parents.

On my mom’s side, she was a total boss—an executive in a man’s world back in the ’80s. Every weekend, we went shopping, and it was *so much fun.* My mom always said, *“Nothing lasts forever—enjoy it while it lasts,”* and we definitely did. She worked hard, but she also knew how to make the most of life, and those weekends together were some of my favorite times with her.

With my dad and stepmom, summers were all about camping. Every year, we’d go on these amazing trips, but the best part was canoeing the Platte River in Michigan. That’s still my favorite trip to this day. There was something about being out on the water, surrounded by nature, that made those moments unforgettable.

Both sides of my childhood gave me something special—my mom taught me confidence and resilience, while my dad and stepmom gave me a love for adventure and the importance of slowing down and enjoying the moment.
