Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Clendenin.
Hi Stacy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my professional journey with obtaining my RN in 2013. I was a single mother to two children working a full time job to go to school. My passion for the health field led me to asthetics and wellness at a med spa. I did that for about 6 years and still wanted to be able to do more for my kids but also be actively involved and the health care field did not warrant much time off. I expanded my skills to real estate and over the next five years built a substaintial client base and was fairly succesful, but still felt my life required more sustinance. I met my husband in 2022 where together we launched Clendenin Bail Bonds and Clendenin Towing and Reovery. It was in this carreer path that i saw a huge need for mental health and sustance abuse counceling. We decided to open 555 Recovery as a south carolina non profit for harm reduction and substance abuse support groups. We have successfully sent 10 people to a rehab facility. I am finally thriving in my life while also making a huge difference
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Struggle is unavoidable, especially when building a business or even a family. There is stress, financial hardships, doubt, worry and worldy things that are sent to destroy what you have built. I have gone through a multitude of things in both my personal and professional life but none amount to the joy i have found in the last two years after meeting my husband and running three succesful companies. Now we are actually making a difference in our community. I find it to be more beneficial to focus on my successes rather than my struggles.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Clendenin Bail Bonds & 555 Recovery?
We have been signing bail bonds for right around 2 years. Although there is great risk in this company, there are also big rewards and not just the monetary ones. We have witnessed people completely change their life, but in all light there is still darkness. The repeat offenders, the young people who lost their right to parent, the ones who cannot see out of the hole of addiction, the ones that the world has given up on. This sparked a fire for 555. We wanted to be a resource for the community of the lost. Its very rare for bondsmans to be heavily invovled in the recovery relm. We want the repetative cycle to end. We want to help guide these people to a different path and give them the tools to live a sober succesful full life. We only keep what we have by giving it away
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Honesty. In all things business and personal one should aim to be honest. Living a humble righteous life always pays off. If someone cannot trust me as a person, why should they trust me as a business owner. Running a business that people can trust sells itself. Its easy to retain business if that individual never has to question that i am doing the right thing.
