Hidden Gems: Meet Ro Arns of Board and Basket HHI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ro Arns.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
6 years ago I moved from Iowa to Hilton Head Island. As an entrepreneur, its easy for me to spot niche holes in markets. I knew no one was doing beach picnics. I knew there was opportunity for grazing boards, and later realized that a Low Country Boil personal chef experience would work well here. I love to create beautiful experiences so this allows me to do that.
Board and Basket HHI was born in November of 2020 and immediately took off!
I’m very fortunate that the same families return to Hilton head year after year and include our services into part of their vacation traditions!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, I would say it has been pretty smooth though it took awhile to understand the timing of the tourists and navigating the off season.

We’ve been impressed with Board and Basket HHI, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Board and Basket HHI offers luxury beach picnics, a low country boil personal chef experience, grazing boards, grazing tables and pool parties!
There is not another business like this on the island and I am so proud to offer services that draw a younger base.

I am most proud of the reputation of my brand. We are known for quick replies, beautiful set ups, and outgoing interactions! I love when I tell people about my business and they get so excited because they follow it!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We do a lot of collaborations with property management companies to bring their clients next level experiences and in the holiday season we work with a lot of local businesses for their holiday parties! The best support is sharing our services!
