Hidden Gems: Meet Rickell Green of The Brow Company Beauty Bar & Beyond, LLC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rickell Green.

Hi Rickell, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
So I’m in original native of Beaufort, SC and I’ve been working in the beauty industry for a little over 11 years now ever since I graduated from ACE as an Esthetician in 2013, but it wasn’t my original interest to be in this field at first. While in high school, I initially wanted to be a Physical Therapist, so I went in Esthetics thinking maybe some of the topics in that field covered what I actually wanted to do. It in fact did not to my surprise! So because of that, I tried to get out the program after completing my first year, but my guidance counselor and God had other plans and I had to stay in and finish the second year. Eventually, while actively completing my second year of ACE, I actually started to love being an Esthetician and the beauty industry since I was doing more hands on work and considering the fact that I am also an Artist, it worked out. I then eventually completed the program and got my license the same time I finished high school. Fast forward to after grade school, had the opportunity to utilize my license, gain work experience and knowledge, build my skills and expertise under a luxury full service spa for about 10 years which also gave me the motivation to want to work for myself. In 2024, with everything I’ve learned over the years,I decided to take the leap of faith to finally pursue my dream of becoming the owner of a full service beauty salon called “The Brow Company Beauty Bar & Beyond, LLC”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say my biggest obstacles in my venture would be dealing with financial loses, transitioning in the middle of them, and having difficulty finding help with Capital to help build the business and compensate for those losses. In the first year of running the business I knew everything wasn’t going to be perfect, but I didn’t expect everything to affect me all at once as well. It was challenging trying to maneuver through it all.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Brow Company Beauty Bar & Beyond is a full-service beauty bar/salon that offers cosmetology services such as eyelash extensions, eyebrow cleaning and filling services, body waxing, makeup and more. We cater services that aim to pamper both men and women to enhance the overall wellness, and beauty of clients.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Through my short years of entrepreneurship, I’ve learned to be more proactive about utilizing my resources so that I’m not caught in any type of bind. I can be a procrastinator sometimes and that definitely has affected my ability to take action when I truly needed to. I also learned to extend grace to myself when necessary. I’m always working and because of it, I tend to forget to take care of myself. Therefore, I’m learning to do better.
