Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Chapman
Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up with soccer in my blood—playing through college and then coaching at the collegiate level for 12 years. My life revolved around competition, but over time, that high-stakes environment no longer aligned with the life I wanted to live. Mental health and whole-body wellness? Just buzzwords to me—until I found yoga.
Anxiety had taken such a toll on my body that I started experiencing stroke-like symptoms. My doctor hit me with a wake-up call: stop working, heal your mind, body, and spirit, and find movement that kept my heart rate below 90 bpm.
Enter yoga. I was introduced to the incredible Belinthia Elder, who led me to the softer, restorative side of the practice—specifically, Yin yoga—and it changed everything. But here’s the catch: I couldn’t afford a membership. That’s when Belinthia and Grace Timms, the co-founders of SOULIFT, gave me an opportunity. They invited me to join as an ambassador, trading my time for classes. I made sure the studio felt warm and welcoming, from folding lavender towels to keeping the space inviting.
Meanwhile, I was naturally sharing my yoga journey online—just like I always had with coaching and everyday life. Social media had always been my thing: storytelling, humor, connection. I wasn’t just promoting SOULIFT because I had to—I was doing it because it was transforming my life, and I knew it could do the same for others.
Fast forward to today: I’m now a 200-hour RYT yoga teacher (on my way to 500-hour certification) and no longer just an ambassador—I’m SOULIFT’s Social Media Manager. My “job” is creating, connecting, and sharing a mission I truly believe in. I found a purpose, a community, and a path that feels fully aligned with who I am. And honestly? I’ve never felt more at home.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth ride? Is it for anyone? I truly believe we all face challenges, no matter the scale—what affects one person might roll right off another. For me, growing up in a world fueled by competition did a number on my self-worth. It shaped me in ways I didn’t fully understand until I realized that the life I thought I was thriving in was actually wrecking my health.
From 2018 to 2020, I found myself in and out of hospitals, drowning in medical debt, and still without answers. My body was shutting down—I was losing function, unable to eat, and dropped 20 pounds with no explanation. It was terrifying. Everything I had built my identity around was slipping away, and I had no control.
But sometimes, the hardest seasons lead to the most unexpected transformations. Looking back, those years forced me to pause, reassess, and ultimately find a new path—one that finally prioritized my well-being over my wins.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
SOULIFT is where movement, mindfulness, and community come together in the most unapologetically fun and supportive way. We’re more than just a yoga, Pilates, and barre studio. We are a complete wellness lifestyle boutique with Health Coaching and Red Light Therapy. If you ask our members, they will tell you we’re so much more.
What makes us different? We celebrate the journey of the WHOLE-PERSON. Our members sign their names on our milestone wall at 100, 500, and 750 classes because every step forward matters. We host events that bring people together in unexpected ways—like floating sound baths, creative workshops, and high-energy theme nights. And we make sure that even when you’re dripping sweat, you’re doing it in a space that feels welcoming, warm, and full of life.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the community we’ve built. We are so diverse, and our people show up for each other—on and off the mat. From the moment you walk through the doors, you will hear members AND staff say that they immediately feel at peace.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me? That the world feels SOULIFT—the heart, the hard work, and the impact we create every single day. It’s not about saying, “Hey, look at what we’re doing.” It’s about saying, “Hey, look at what’s possible when you choose to prioritize your whole-body wellness. Look at what happens when you show up for yourself. You CAN do hard things. You WILL be okay.”
If someone stumbles across a SOULIFT post or something I share personally, and it makes them feel at home, seen, or just good in their soul—that’s everything. That’s fulfillment.
You can say we drink the Kool-Aid. You can say we love ourselves—and you’d be absolutely right. We do love ourselves, and we believe you should too. Because when you start to, everything shifts. And that’s what we’re here to share.
