Today we’d like to introduce you to Keri Griffin.
Hi Keri, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I look back over my life, there is no doubt in my mind that God has been writing this story from the very beginning. There were seasons that didn’t make sense while I was living them, but today I can see His faithfulness woven through every chapter.
Before real estate, I spent 18 years building a career in marketing and advertising. I loved the creativity, strategy, and problem-solving that came with that work, and I assumed it was the path my career would always follow.
Then everything changed.
Our family experienced the devastating and unexpected loss of my father-in-law, and my employer encouraged me to step away from work for a season so I could be present for my husband and our family as we walked through our grief. What felt like an unexpected pause became one of the greatest turning points in my life.
For the previous two years, I had driven past the Wyatt Institute every day on my way to work without giving it much thought. Looking back, I can’t help but smile because what I saw as just another building, God already knew would become the doorway to an entirely new chapter of my life. During that season away from work, I enrolled in a real estate class. It wasn’t part of a carefully crafted career plan—I simply felt led to take the next step. I had no idea that one decision would completely change the direction of my life.
The beginning of my real estate career wasn’t easy, but it was exactly where I needed to be. I was blessed to work under an incredibly knowledgeable broker who challenged me to ask questions, research, think critically, and understand not just how things were done, but why. While I often wondered why everyone else seemed to be moving ahead faster than I was, I can now see those years weren’t a delay—they were preparation.
Over time, I discovered the part of real estate I loved most wasn’t selling homes. It was helping other agents understand the profession. I loved taking something that felt overwhelming and making it practical. Every opportunity to teach, mentor, or explain the “why” behind the law confirmed what had been growing in my heart all along.
That journey led me to earn my broker’s license, become a certified real estate instructor, and eventually found Expert Agent Academy. Along the way, I was blessed with remarkable mentors, including Charles D. Wyatt, Jr., whose wisdom, generosity, and encouragement have had a profound impact on both my career and my teaching philosophy.
Today, Expert Agent Academy is far more than a business to me. It is an opportunity to steward the gifts and calling the Lord has entrusted to me by equipping real estate professionals with practical knowledge, confidence, and integrity. My mission is to help agents move from license to leadership by teaching the “why” behind the law so they can better serve their clients, their communities, and our profession.
If there’s one thing I hope people take away from my story, it’s this: none of the credit belongs to me. I simply kept saying “yes” each time God opened another door. I didn’t create this path—He did.
Expert Agent Academy is still just beginning, and I have no idea where God will take it from here. But I know this: the same God who faithfully led me through every season of preparation will faithfully bring the students I’m meant to teach and open the doors I’m meant to walk through. My job isn’t to write the story—it’s to faithfully steward the assignment He’s given me. The rest is in His hands.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. In many ways, I feel like I’m just getting started.
Building Expert Agent Academy has been one of the most rewarding and stretching experiences of my life. Starting a school means creating curriculum, earning state approvals, building and rebuilding websites, finding classroom space, marketing, teaching, and wearing just about every hat imaginable. There have been classes with empty seats, moments of disappointment, and plenty of days where I’ve wondered if I was doing enough or whether I was headed in the right direction.
The past few years have also brought significant personal and professional challenges that tested my faith in ways I never expected. Those seasons have been difficult, and I’d be lying if I said trusting God has always come easily. Sometimes faith looks less like certainty and more like simply choosing to take the next faithful step, even when you can’t see where the path is leading.
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that God’s calling doesn’t always come with a detailed roadmap. More often than not, He simply asks us to trust Him with the next step. Looking back over my life, I can clearly see His faithfulness in every chapter, even when I couldn’t see what He was doing in the moment. Remembering that gives me the courage to keep moving forward, especially on the days when the future feels uncertain.
Expert Agent Academy is still in its early chapters, and that’s one of the most exciting—and humbling—parts of this journey. I don’t have everything figured out yet, and I’m still discovering what God intends this school and this training ministry to become. My prayer is simply to steward well what He’s entrusted to me, continue preparing with excellence, and remain faithful to the assignment He’s given me.
I don’t know exactly who He’ll bring into my classrooms or where He’ll open doors next, but I do know this: He has been faithful every step of the way. That’s what gives me hope to keep building, keep teaching, and keep saying “yes” whenever He calls.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Expert Agent Academy?
Expert Agent Academy exists because I believe real estate education should do far more than satisfy a licensing requirement. It should build knowledgeable professionals, confident decision-makers, and leaders who strengthen our industry.
Our mission is to help agents move From License to Leadership by teaching the “why” behind the law. Anyone can teach a rule. I want my students to understand why that rule exists, how it applies in the real world, and how it protects both their clients and their careers. When agents understand the “why,” they make better decisions, serve with greater confidence, and elevate the profession as a whole.
Every course we develop is rooted in current law, real practice, and today’s market—not theory or outdated material. We intentionally connect legal concepts to real transactions, current challenges, technology, and practical situations agents face every day. Education should be valuable, relevant, collaborative, and immediately applicable.
One of the things that makes Expert Agent Academy different is that we aren’t simply instructors—we’re practitioners. We understand the challenges agents face because we face them too. Our classrooms are designed to be conversations, not lectures. We encourage questions, collaboration, and discussion because that’s where real learning happens.
Beyond education, I want Expert Agent Academy to become a place where agents find community, mentorship, and encouragement throughout their careers. Real estate can be an incredibly rewarding profession, but it can also feel isolating. My hope is that every student leaves not only with greater knowledge, but with greater confidence, stronger relationships, and a renewed passion for serving others.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a curriculum or a classroom. It’s the mission behind it all. I believe the Lord entrusted me with this assignment, and my responsibility is to steward it well. Every course we write, every class we teach, and every student we have the privilege of serving is an opportunity to honor Him by serving others with excellence.
Expert Agent Academy is still in its early chapters, but I believe the foundation matters more than the pace of growth. My prayer is that we become known for practical education, unwavering integrity, meaningful relationships, and teaching that genuinely changes the way agents think—not just for a day in the classroom, but throughout their careers.
Because at the end of the day, education isn’t about earning hours.
It’s about equipping professionals to serve people well.
And that’s a mission worth building.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe our industry is entering one of the most significant periods of change we’ve ever seen. Technology, artificial intelligence, evolving consumer expectations, and ongoing regulatory changes are transforming the way real estate professionals do business. But despite all of that change, one thing remains constant: people still need knowledgeable, ethical professionals they can trust.
I don’t believe AI will replace real estate agents. I do believe it will replace agents who refuse to adapt. The professionals who embrace technology while continuing to develop strong communication skills, sound judgment, negotiation expertise, and a deep understanding of the law will be the ones who thrive. Technology should enhance relationships—not replace them.
I also believe continuing education has to evolve. For too long, much of our industry has viewed education as something you complete because you have to. I think we’re moving toward education that is practical, collaborative, and immediately applicable. Agents don’t just want information anymore—they want confidence. They want to understand the “why” behind the law, learn from real-world situations, and leave class with tools they can use the very next day.
Another shift I hope to see is a greater emphasis on professionalism and mentorship. Real estate has never been more complex, and I believe experienced professionals have a responsibility to invest in the next generation. When we elevate individual agents, we elevate the reputation of our entire industry.
That’s the future I hope Expert Agent Academy helps shape. My vision isn’t simply to teach classes—it’s to build a culture of lifelong learning where agents continue growing long after they earn their license. If we can develop professionals who are knowledgeable, adaptable, ethical, and committed to serving others well, I believe our industry will be stronger because of it.
Most importantly, I believe our profession will always be about people. Markets will change. Technology will evolve. Laws will be updated. But buying and selling a home is one of the most significant decisions many people will ever make. There will always be a need for trusted professionals who combine knowledge with wisdom, competence with compassion, and innovation with integrity.
