Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Goldsmith
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was an elementary teacher when I moved to Greenville in 2006, but I changed careers and got licensed as a mortgage loan officer in 2014. I am still in the mortgage industry, but I had a desire to start my own business after I began working with a business coach. My mindset began shifting with the coaching and opened up so many possibilities that I had never considered. One of those was an email I received about purchasing a franchise. I responded back and after answering a questionnaire, I was sent four different franchises to start interviewing. I ended up deciding on Shrunk 3D. The biggest draws for me were that it was mobile, cutting edge, and would bring people joy. I am excited to be part of a brand that is all about providing an amazing, one-of-a-kind experience and giving someone a lifelong memory that they can hold in their hands.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t believe opening a new business is ever completely smooth so we have definitely had our ups and downs since we picked up our booth at the end of May of this year. I think the biggest struggle is getting our brand recognized. Because Shrunk 3D is a newer franchise, we are not only building our business, but also the brand. Once people see what we do, they are super excited and ready to participate. However, a lot of people do not know we exist. So our goal is to be a company that everyone recognizes and wants to be a part of.

We add to any experience and provide a keepsake that will last a lifetime and beyond. Shrunk 3D works for any individual, any business, and any event. We are the only mobile 3D photo booth, and the franchise is nationwide.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Being an entrepreneur and starting a business comes with risks. We bought a franchise that is very new and not well known yet.
I have never been a huge risk-taker, but I have learned (and am still learning) that in business, you need to be willing to take risks to build something great. We have a vision of doing that with Shrunk 3D. It is a risk to step out and try something I have never tried before. For me, that is two-fold – being a business owner and owning a franchise. For Joey, this is his first time to own a franchise. He has owned several businesses previously so that is not new for him.
We want to build something that will make an impact in our community and also provide us with more options as entrepreneurs. We love that we have the opportunity to help build the Shrunk 3D brand as we grow our business. It is a risk, but it is also exciting and stretching us to be innovative and creative.
