Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Molo.
Hi Jen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was living in the mountains of Colorado and the winters were rough. I wanted a change and knew that I wanted to live close to the ocean on the East Coast. I started researching businesses for sale and came across Flamingo Porch. I didn’t really understand what a consignment store was as they don’t have these type of stores in Colorado. I flew to SC to visit the Myrtle Beach area, fell in love with Murrells Inlet and Flamingo Porch and put an offer in to purchase. I became the owner on May 1st, 2025.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was definitely not a smooth road. Lots of hiccups, and I spent a lot of time and effort getting the locals to trust that I was going to do right by the store. I have made many changes and all have seems to work out and I believe that I’m thriving as the owner. My staff is amazing and they have helped me along the way. They have become friends and my family.
We’ve been impressed with Flamingo Porch , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flamingo Porch is one of the largest consignment stores in the Grand Strand area! With over 7200 sq feet of retail space, full of treasures! We specialize in gently used, high quality furniture and home decor. We have a great selection of antiques and collectibles as well as plenty of new unique gift shop items. We handpick and curate each item that comes onto our showroom floor! We know what sells well, and we sell a lot of it! We recently added some vendor booths as well, to keep the look of the store fresh and interesting.
